This is very interesting because I learned about the importance of controlled vibrato on one of your earlier videos. When I first "got my vibrato", I would sing it more generally throughout a word, though not always RIGHT through a word. So I listened to that earlier vid and practised bringing in the vibrato part way through, say during the second half, and I found it made SUCH a difference. I have heard other professional singers sing a whole song, vibrating EVERY word from beginning to the end of each word, and it really sounds pretty awful. You know what you are talking about Freya, and this new video you have posted certainly instils the importance of controlling it. Thank you for posting this.

Hi Freya, I really enjoyed this lesson. I am not a singer, but am really interested in how good vocalists do what they do. I have been following a young Norwegian vocalist who had amazing vibrato which was very pronounced at 7yrs. How can someone so young have such skill and ability? Please check out Angelina Jordan's stunning rendition of the classic Summertime on Norway's got talent 2014. Would be really nice if you could do a reaction vid! I think you will be quite literally stunned. Love your work!

Great assuming folks already have mastered how to "create" vibrato . . . .

This does not quite address my issue. I've had a natural vibrato all of my life and I can't "turn it off". So when you say, "sing this part straight tone and then go to vibrato on the next part", it does not help me because you don't explain HOW to sing straight tone. What do I need to do to stop the vibrato?
