Bert, we can tell you're trying harder to actively listen and not interrupt people! You're doing super great, buddy! Thanks for apologizing and encouraging her to continue her story.
This felt like a therapy session about Bert! An interview is designed for your guest. I stumbled on your chanel for the first time because I wanted to learn more about Anjelah! ✨️
Just 2 nights ago, we were on our way home. We told my daughter about one of our most memorable dates of all time. We saw her perform at a community College in Oklahoma in 2010 or 2011. My wife has only seen 1 stand up live, Anjelah Johnson. We will never forget that night. My daughter died laughing watching the nail salon bit. Even a 9 year old know magic when she sees it.
She is the absolute best! My mom is a retired flight attendant in her mid 70s, hardcore Christian and she LOOOOOOOVES her. It's nice to finally be able to watch a comedian she'd like with her and super glad to have comedy as a bond with my momma now. Thanks Anjelah!
Bert, keep believing, regardless of what they say! You gratitude prayers warmed my heart! Don't ignore those prayer prompting, you might save a life...and give yourself the grace to pray for yourself🙏 If you won't pray for yourself, we will❤
Anjelah's personality is super great and it really shines through in this interview. From the first time I ever saw her do the nail salon bit, it immediately become one of my favorites of all-time!
Bert, y'all don't make a bad video but dang, thank you for this one. Just listening to y'all has inspired and encouraged me to be better. I've been coasting through a lot of my days but y'all lit a fire under me. Loved this so much. Thanks 😊
Just gotta say I love Bert one way or the other but this might be one of the best podcast interviews I’ve heard! It’s obvious you’re trying to make changes and it shows! Keep it up! The Machine!
Bert. Thank you for actively talking about religion and opening yourself up to us. It is always an inspiration! I hope you respond back. You are awesome!
I love you, Bert, and I love Anjelah; this was just amazing! Two of my favorite story tellers in the same room. 🤯 Also, you both inspired me to start practicing gratitude more often. Thank you for that much needed reminder. God bless you both. ♥️
Love Bert and Anjelah SO MUCH!! And super stoked for the mention of Tom Rhoads!!!! He was absolutely on of my top faves during the stand up boom in the’80’s!!!! 🥰
Thank you both for this conversation. I found Anjela from her nail salon video and have followed her ever since. Bert, you did very well with a back and forth in this podcast. I see the work you are doing.
Bert, One point I'd like to make is that the reason you love having a huddle for a prayer is that a, there is strength in numbers when shielding harmful trespasser, b, Prayer is essentially a meditation that seeks to inform you of yourself and bringing yourself closer to God, c, When praying there is no problem asking for help or guidance, That is what a loving God said he would do for you. If asked I would say that in any day I talk to God every time I feel a need to. When I pray I don't make it a long process rather I say I have a conversation or make a comment like I am talking to the smartest guy in the group. Their is so peace to find in faith. And if you want to pray for success their is no problem with that as long your thankful for what you have already; if you are not just let him know you are unhappy and ask for guidance and give him the glory when it comes. My best to you and yours.
Let me guess you are in your early 40's? My older sister is 42 and all her friends and her were wanna be cholos in SOCAL!!! I also preordered her book.
Looking forward to the Tulsa show. It’s been impossible for a guy living in the Midwest to get into live comedy. I’m glad so many comics moved to Texas.
First time I watched one of your podcast, and I absolutely l😍ve it!! That’s exactly the kind of conversations that I’ve been needing, that I’ve missed so much because that I don’t have any anymore. You’re making me feel less alone in my head… 😂 Thanks for that 👍🏼
Mexican here ✋🇲🇽, you can make flour tortillas with no lard I make them all the time. You can use butter, vegetable shortening or oil. My favorite way to make them is with butter. I have an aunt in Mexico who makes them with butter too they are OMG so dang good. You just have to make sure your butter is soft. When I make them, I don't measure I just eyeball it. But I came across this video and she uses about the same ratio and technique that I use when I make flour tortillas, I just use soften butter instead. th-cam.com/video/lao7wJvdqI4/w-d-xo.html
Jajaja 😜 Eyeball 👁 it, that’s soooooo true. I asked my mom to give me her recipe and there was no precise measurements of anything. Pues 👀 mira………. Me: 🙈
People tell me to coment as it helps the artist. This is a classic bert with him trying to not interrupted. It takes time to change not an easy thing. By the way just be you Bert. We love you to the end of my lifetime. The one regret I have is not going to all your four shows when you were in Australia. You need more than one show because you are forever laughing from the last joke. If he waited for the laughter to die down , his one hour set would go for 3 hours. His one hour set still went for an hour and half. Bert you are a comedy legend.
I like hearing you tell the machine story every time you’re in knoxville or nashville, even though I’ve heard it a hundred times. It really is the same as going to see a band and listening to the hits.
@Bert Kreischer, thank you SO much for introducing us to Anjelah on your podcast. And @Bobby Lee & @Khalylah, thank you SO much for introducing us to Bert. Will be following Anjelah, her story from 20 years old moving to L.A. to a successful career is extremely relatable. Hard work pays off!!!! Go Anjelah!!!!
So happy you talk about your faith. Makes you so much more real and I respect you so much more. You’re the man Bert. I get why you’re so successful now
Hi Bert, saw one of your first shows ever at Laff Stop in Houston, big fan... I was performing in the middle of the pandemic, and you opened for me... I didn't even realize, I was setting up behind a giant video screen at an outdoor bar venue, and they were playing your act, and everyone in the audience was cracking up. I was listening, not seeing you, saying, "wow, this is hilarious, I know who this is.. Who is this?" And, when I went around the screen, it was, of course YOU. At that moment, I thanked god that I was a variety comedy act, and not a comedian trying to follow your act, not to mention with amazing production quality. From the start, you were the most likable natural, and I felt the same way about the Anjelah Johnson work... Amazing to see two naturals with such mutual admiration
This is such a great conversation, especially the segment where Bert and Angela’s are discussing the one-hit-wonder issue. I’m not a comedian, but I love writing comedically for my friends. I must’ve watched TH-cam clips of Bert’s “machine” and Anjelah’s “salon” and Larson’s “random guy” dozens of times. I imagine it must be a conflicted decision to play greatest hits.
Anjelah, you were my first comedy show in Lincoln NE. Just saw Taylor Tomlinson in Omaha last month and saw that you were coming to the same venue! Definitely will be there!
@Women are Fucking killing it!” I won’t even try to list them all. But thank you Bert, for promoting them!!!! All I watch is stand up and then I find your podcasts!! Thank you all
I have 5 favorite comedians, but they are all men and very funny, but you (Anjelah) is my favorite female comedian and being from Fresno CA, I can relate (even as a man), with the many types of cultures that surrounding me which match so much of your experiences and jokes. Check out the movie Addicted to Fresno and you may understand how living in a crazy town is like. This sounds like what you lived through and can understand what it's like to grown up in the 80s - 90s and I just love you.
This was so comedy palate-cleansing. Funny and surprisingly wholesome (Bert talking about Young Life and having a sense his kids are missing out on a religious experience). I love other comedy podcasts, but sometimes the off-the-wall, shouting, bit-based stuff doesn't hit the way that this episode did. It was two decent people, with the mature perspective that comes with having lived a bit, engaging in a real conversation.
Bert, we can tell you're trying harder to actively listen and not interrupt people! You're doing super great, buddy! Thanks for apologizing and encouraging her to continue her story.
He literally did it 7 times probably.
@@Sickwithit355 And have you seen what he does to Tom? This is definitely an improvement.
What a positive comment! 🎶Bert is evolving🎵
Buddy ? Who tf do you think you are?!
@@a.m.scape_5133 it’s a common term of endearment. It does not literally mean he’s her actual buddy. Why do I have to say this lol

Thank you Bert for having Anjelah Johnson on your podcast. She is an inspiration to me, a disabled female Veteran of the US Army. Anjelah, you ROCK!!!
Thank you for your Service
Thanks for your Service.
Thank you for your cervix
Thank you for risking your life for oligarchs and the military industrial complex you brave sheep.

Anjelah is great , I’m surprised she is not on more podcasts, thanks for having her.
Because she isn’t funny
Bert you are so beautifully and unapologetically yourself, it’s great to see. You’re a genuinely kind person. Don’t overthink or change too much.

That phone call was awesome... Tom saying all those kind words, and Anjelah lighting up!
Anjelah's personality is super great and it really shines through in this interview. From the first time I ever saw her do the nail salon bit, it immediately become one of my favorites of all-time!
I absolutely love how Burnt interrupts himself, while interrupting Anjelah, with ads!
He also loves to repeat the same statement as if it's some profound wisdom.
Love Anjelah!! I've seen her at the Improv and met her. She's very sweet and genuine.
1:18:05 Gotta love her laugh! I still remember watching her clips on TH-cam when TH-cam just came out. LEGEND hasnt aged at all.
This is the best podcast I have listened to in a long time. Such a breath of fresh air
He's smacked on all those Percocets. He's high.
first time listener loved the guest Anjela and the journey stories. but really loved sharing your praying journey. ❤️

Just because of this podcast I already preorder Anjelah's audible book!! Great podcast.
Wow! This was a very special episode. Thanks for being brave, Bert & Anjelah, and baring your souls for us.
Thank you both for this conversation. I found Anjela from her nail salon video and have followed her ever since. Bert, you did very well with a back and forth in this podcast. I see the work you are doing.
You are getting better at interviewing Bert and letting the guest get their stories out, doing great bro

I'm too busy to listen right now but this little chola has my heart ❤
I loved this podcast!
So I definitely was a wannabe chola in my teens. I related so hard to her story. I’m going to her book.
