I know this is an older video, but I am commenting both to boost the algorithm and because I’m really enjoying this deep dive series. Well done.. I think the game does a pretty good job of exploring Gale’s abuse and grooming, particularly if you run through a couple of times and try to get all of the dialogue. It even sets up an interesting dynamic where he is putting Tav in the position of his new false ideal, unless you stop him. But I agree that the game does not give you enough dialogue in character to talk over what is really happening with him or any of the companions. Most of it stays unspoken, even if the story makes it clear.

I have always wondered what it is, that pisses me off with Mystra. Now I know. The thing that always made me annoyed, is the fact, that the only way, Gale will not become a god (and sorry, I think this is a bad ending for him), is to creep to Mystras feets and say sorry, sorry, I didn't mean it. He made a mistake, sure, but she has never explained to him, why he should wait and be patient. I don't think Mystra deserves an apology, she should face her faults as well as Gale. They could still come to an agreement, or let's say a peaceful solution, but I wished Gale could stand up more for himself. Astarion is right, when he said: "So, Gale decided to be a good boy ..." I can only agree, it is not the right decision. But then I find God Gale so insufferable. I always want to encourage my Companions, to chose the way of healing, not the way of power (unless playing evil of course), but with two it is not working. Gale, because I can't tell him how awful I find Mystra, without him thinking being a God is the best way. And Wyll. Because Wyll is learns nothing on his journey, he is still repeating what his father said, and I want to punch some sense into that man. I hate Ravenguard. I do feel sad for Cazador, understand the madness of Orin, love the evilness of Raphael and ... I even have some tiny sympathies for Wulbren, but the only person in the whole game I hate is Ravenguard. I don't know what this is saying about my mental health. Once I just let him die, but then I felt bad for Omeluum, so I continued rescuing the Bastard. Mystra then would be slightly beneath Ravenguard and Florrick, the most stupid woman in the entire Game, but only slighlty, and only because Ravenguard is the most annoying, self-rightous, stupid hero-paladin, and Florrick makes a Goblin seem like a well educated person. That was an unneccessary long rant about Ravenguard, sorry 😂 But Mystra is awful. Just awful.
Mystra had several chosens. Both men and women, not all them were her lovers. We know about 18, if I’m not mistaken. Just for your notice, all gods in Faerun could bless their chosen, but it’s extremely rare occasion. Some of Chosens became their god’s avatar ant it’s tricky for deity. Also one of Mystra’s biggest failures with this role was Sammaster. Look for him, Gale had all chances to repeat his fate if he was slightly more evil.
