I love Lucanis and I'm so sad over the vast potential the romance had that will bever be realized outside of fan fiction. We can only sigh over what might have been had the original writer not been let go or left, whatever happened. The writing leftover is so bad... Idk, me personally it’s just horrible writing. There’s a way to ease the audience into the normalcy of a situation. This character, hell this game, just felt like a preachy mess. There are moments when Taash gets pissy or complains about someone for doing something and then they immediately do the thing they don’t want others saying When it comes to video games, everyone wants to escape reality and have what is essentially a playable book. This just feels like I’m scrolling through twitter LMAO

i agree with u on delving deeper into generational trauma! but i think another missed opp is the implications of spite in the wider DA universe where he is a demon possessed non-mage (rare, if not the only). and i think veilguard overall doesn't let companion and character choices shape the world, your own morality, and your relationships with others as flexibly, layered-ly, and richly they used to in past games, which makes me kind of sad about, bc the initial pitched story beats in the art book made it feel so incredibly promising and exciting in scale and depth, including relationships :( hell, we used to be able to have full and deep convos between quests about the character/their culture that didn't have to do with main/side missions, but for this iteration of lucanis, i felt that a lot of the downtime mostly had one-sided, passive one-liners (if it didn't have to do with a specific mission, you couldn't actually interact/talk to them). what a shame, he's actually really magnetic and the VA did a good job. i know his writer was laid off and production was bad. but damn... guess i gotta settle for fix-it fics
