Also known as: huh, hngh, hah.....dead my first character was a everything in all skills build. It was horrible and i think i died more often because of dodging than to monsters. BUT with these changes i´m excited, so much more to explore 20+ years later
I'm looking forward to 2.4. My Amazon is waiting at the beginning of Hell for it. She's a Lightning Strike Javazon and I'm trying to make her very tanky for Hell. I have Guardian Angel so I'm maxing Block and getting all my resistances to 90. I'll have to decide how many points to invest in these Avoidances abilities to further reduce incoming attacks.
Is the bug fixed, which used to nullify your damage of a thrown lighting fury, while evading when it is mid air? I sometimes even have the feeling my charged bolts do no damage after evade animations.
Huh, I had only ever put a couple points in the avoidances at most, mainly due to how quickly the benefits drop. I might change that with a new amazon in the future. You may want to increase your own skill in that if that fluffy boy tries to bite you again in the future. 🤓
Avoidance and blocking are checked separately. Only if they fail Chance to Hit calculation takes place. Agility is part of your total Defense Rating, together with armor and other bonuses. Keep in mind that avoidance and block will protect you even from some attacks that your armor won't: for instance you can Avoid Bone Spear, or Hydras in Travincal, or partially block Diablo's red lightning (1/2 is physical, 1/2 lightning) or Nilathak's Corpse Explosion (1/2 physical, 1/2 fire). Defense Rating is only checked against attacks that are assigned Attack Rating (usually Attack 1 and Attack 2, or Melee Attack 1 and Melee Attack 2 in the bestiary). If something doesn't have Attack Rating, armor will have no effect.
You are looking for an order of operations, Sure I can provide that, keep in mind however that some things avoid certain stages of the OOP. I.e. a spell like hydra doesn't check defense or block ect. The Order is Thus Defense > Shield/weapon block > Dodge, Avoid, & Evade However a Spell like Lightning which does not check defense and could only be blocked by assassin weapon block would go either A Straight to Weapon block(dual Claws) or Straight to Evade/Avoid for a missile dodge attempt.
@@wladimir.Quiroz 5k armor isn"t a bad start. To give you a picture, at lvl 80 you go to cows with 5k, they will have 47% chance to hit you - every other hit will connect. If you farm Baal at lvl 90, he will have 69% chance to hit you. There is still a way to go, 13-15k Defense Rating builds aren't unheard of :)
@@marianpetera8436 defense is difficult to build on zones they don't have any multiplication skills. Paladin has holy shield and defiance, druid has bear, barbarian has iron skin and shout, even sorceress has her ice armors. Amazon has none unfortunately. So 5k defense on a zon is a pretty fair goal

This can be combined with block, right? Or will having a shield equipped prevent them from triggering?
Yes evades do combine with block, which makes them extremely tanky.
Checked last, after defense and blocking have failed.

For the Amazon yes, for the Valkyrie no. Hard points are required for the valk to benefit. If you want a tanky valk that is.

I once made a passive only amazon. Reached lvl 85. My Valkyrie could solo hell Baal minions.
The only thing max passive zon valk can't solo is uber duriel, it takes 3 casts
I think I know the answer to this but I'm going to ask anyways: can you avoid curses? My guess is you can't.
No, but there are two ways you can severely reduce their duration.
#1 Fade
#2 cleansing Aura
You can also use a shrine or well to remove them instantly.
I had a cheated amazon years ago with all passive tree at 20, nobody could hit her and valkyri killed everything

yes I tested it conclusively with several characters it is definitively fixed.
