I've been a part of several of the Gowens and Larrson musicals, I agree with you Tony, I would love to see them come back. They are so much fun and great memories.
man i forget about this musical good thing i was part of badass gang! i still got the m usical book on my shelf, i aways look back and sang the songs: you dont have to be clever and the long trombone btw i was the guy who stole their salvation army flag but the audience was trying to figure out who stole the flag and at the end of the musical everyone was coming out in group to bow out on who those are but i was carrying the stolen flag on my back and when i spin around the audience realise it was me who stolen and everyone applaused and gave the flag back to captain
@@annesmith6582 LOL!!!!!! then let me give you a hint: (Harry and the others) Salvation army, free from sin, went to the devil in a corn beef tin; the corn beef tin got far too warm, they all got shaken in a thunderstorm, the thunderstorm rained wet, wet rain, and washed the lot of 'em down the drain! who think said that poem only the cast players know them!!
What ever happened to the sa musicals they are never put on anymore last one I remember was son of man at worthing corps in 1985 glory was my favourite musical bring them back I'd love to put this on at Peterborough Corps would be great.
Has anyone noticed that the man playing the Captain has his lines on the front of his Bible? I have watched it several times but just noticed! I don't blame him as he is hardly ever off stage.
Just to add to my last comment, I only noticed the script in the band practice scene. I am curious, though, about the character of Lady Beatrice, was she a real person and if so did she become a Salvationist.
hello, I happen to be looking for a copy of the "GLORY" musical done by the "God's Soliders" Session at their commissioning in 1981 in the USA Southern Territory and also looking for a copy of the musical "BLood of the Lamb" performed in the USA Southern Territory by the "God's Messengers" session 1980-1982 this particular year GOWANS came to Atlanta, GA to participate in our Commissioning musical playing the part of William Booth. Since Gowans himself (RIP) is in the musical I was sure I could locate a tape or video of this but can't find anyone who knows where I can find one. :(
