I worked my way up to $25 an hour cash but I left the company last year to come to the city. Joined the union with a good wage and a great pension and I’m only 21. I’m forever grateful for the boss that put me in the machine. I was a kid who had nothing going for him and when I started I had no interest in running machines but I was willing to work hard and that man made it all possible thanks to him I’ve been able to make a career out of it and build a future. But theres no places paying that much hiring many people that isnt in a shithole like LA where you make 60 an hour but rent in a rundown shack is still 4,000. 25 isnt too bad bro you sit 8 hours a day and make 200 a day. 5 days a week thats 1200 before taxes, if youre lucky maybe about 950 after taxes, thats 50k a year if you take a 2 week vacation. If you live on 25k like a poor and save 25k every year for 4 years you can have 100k in the bank savings you csn invest with or whatever bro, now you dont need a pay raise because you have multiple streams of income. Thats pretty good for a job you can get into with no schooling required and all you have to do is gey good at digging with the machine they took all the risk financially in providing for you. You can probably make more than 25 easy but its going to require you buying your own excavator, hauling it from job to job on your own, building your own clientel, its not worth it for most people, theyd rather get 25 an hour and work 4 years 8 hours a day and spend half bank half andnin 4 years you got 100k in the bank. OSHA does require a license of sorts, they require certification which is simply proof of training and testing for various types of heavy equipment. Your employer can be fined if they come on site and check it. But probably won't come on site unless there's an accident or someome calls them.

  • @jamesstewart6754
    @jamesstewart6754 ปีที่แล้ว

    It actually depends on what piece of equipment you are operating. And if it is a private job or if you are working on a state job like a highway. Probably the highest pay is the grader and then the escavator and then bulldozer, finish bulldozers, scraper, back hoes, roller compactors, off road dump trucks, rubber tire front end loaders.

    Keep it simple. Pick a job you can see yourself doing from looking at job activities, learn the skills needed for the job, and if you can learn this without needing to go to university then do this as you can learn everything online. But some require uni like med school.
    Pick something high in demand in your area of residence, learn the skills, choose 2 jobs related to skills be great at these specific jobs. Rather then 10 jobs you can be ok and make it harder for you to get a job because you're not being in depth.

    Me 70 plus hours a week no medical and haven’t paid myself a wage in two years so I can build the business to hopefully get to a larger business.

    Here in Anchorage Alaska you start at about $30 per hour with an increase every 1000 hours until you reach $49 per hour. Overtime is double. No license required. If you decide to work in the oil field up north you can work as many hour as you want to work 7 days a week. Anyone interested can find the heavy equipment operator apprenticeship opportunity through the department of labor or the local 302 union website
