Tl;dw - great aesthetic, winnable games, faulty machines, grumpy management who aren't good at customer service, very expensive, awesome prizes, 6.5/10

love the idea of Round 1s- Casino for kids is a good way to phrase it. I have been wondering about the Holyoke location (which is probably why this popped up). I have had to go to the BBB for one where I used to live, they do really rig the machines. I did win the Better Business grievance- I had won cards from their spongebob or some other such machine, brought them to redeem, and they said they were fake. I took them to the machine- they found it was stocked with a number of fake cards but still wouldn't give me the ticket credit OR reimburse me until I filed the complaint.
Oh, and I think the 'fox/cat/dog' I think it's a Shiba Inu- tend to be a popular 'fox dog' in Japan

Thanks so much! Really glad you took the time to explain your situation because once the GM never got back to me after his initial response, it really made me feel like this place is as bad as I thought it was. Arcades usually cater to the customers and this one is so money hungry and rude, as much as I love what they have and actually want to be at a place like that, I won't go again. Horrible. Glad BBB sided with you and maybe one day they'll learn to treat people better.

The difference between a casino and an arcade is that at a casino, you are there to loose serious money with the intention of winning big, only to loose money in the end. With an arcade, an arcade gives you tickets to actually win prizes. You are there to win physical tickets and get small to large prizes.

Exactly! The house still always wins either way, but at least you can gauge where you're at with tickets and try to aim for a prize that you're interested in!
