After messing with my regulator 100 times I’m starting to think this may be the root of my problems with my blackstone, takes forever to cook and doesn’t get hot enough to sear properly. Thanks for the video, I’ll be ordering the guards for sure!
Did you try this already? When you open the propane tank, only open it up a little bit and turn on the blackstone. Then 30 seconds later slowly open up the rest of the propane tank knob. There's tutorials online that you may have already seen. I had a problem with my regulator as well until I did this.
Sounds like your good to go! Season it and get to cooking! If you want to see how I seasoned mine watch this. th-cam.com/video/hYiBHCidYJM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YXYOzuhxmTr78inm
Everyone is chasing upgraded regulators for more heat, but this seems like a much better solution. I bet they'd sell more if they didn't advertise them as "wind protectors" but rather efficiency increasers, temp increasers, etc.
When you install the heat shields you can cook everything on low heat, which means you will have no issues with warping, as the temp is allows low. No issue.
Not sure if Blackstone makes one, but if they did why not include it with their griddle? So far I have had no issues with the magnets after around a dozen cooks. They say the magnets are not affected by the heat. I would recommend using them. Thanks for stopping by!
Someone mentioned this on their Amazon page. They responded by saying : "Thank you for your concerns. In terms of the magnetism, we use a special matariel called samarium cobalt, which is heat resistant and strong magnetism. Besides, in order to make sure the magnetism is still there, we test this magnets with high heat, which shows the magnetism still works."
Ok I admit I too followed the Blackstone craze and bought one. I hated it. Poorly built if I have to buy a product made by a different company so my Blackstone works!
I believe it's to sell for a price point and not sell you something you don't need. We are 2 blocks off a 5 mile river, we wish we got a breeze. Doesn't happen in a 1918 3-story historic district backyard the size of a postage stamp. You can easily aluminum foil it.

Thank you for posting this lol it’s been windy here in Houston and I’ve been frustrated trying to figure out what was wrong
I live in a very windy part of Minnesota, especially in the winter. I am excited to receive these and see the difference they make.
I am sure you will be happy. Let me know what you thing of them, thanks for stopping by!
Just got a 36 inch with hood for $369 at Costco. Also ordered and installed the wind guards

Since installing these I cook everything on low heat, so it does save propane. I would highly recommend. Thanks for stopping by!
New to Blackstone - still saving up and doing research. Your video will make my purchase a great success. Many thanks. New subscriber here. 👍👍
Awesome! Thank you!
Those look pretty nice. Where l live it’s been very windy. I have a 36 blackstone and that wind blows the flames.
These would certainly solve that problem Robert. Thanks for stopping by!
I really appreciate you making this video, helped me alot!! Keep on cooking!
Thanks Ryan! I appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment!
I just purchased these yesterday… but I just ask. Is there a risk of warping at those temperatures or does that only happen on the first seasoning?
I haven't had any warping yet, and I have do around 9-10 cooks using them. I don't think that would be an issue. Thanks for stopping by!
I've heard many negatives about the grill warping because of the high heat..... is this an issue???

They work great..saves gas and you can turn on low and still cook...but who cooks at 600+ degrees anyway..great product
how are the magnets holding up with the heat, magnets are supposed to lose their strength with heat
Magnets are working fine after a few years of use.
Just received my Sivsis wind guards. Is there a plastic sheet on the wind guard that you remove?
Yes, remove them before using. You will love them.
Doesn't Blackstone make something like this as a one piece?
Magnets usually have a problem with high heat? Have you seen a problem?

yes them things are a must for sure .. nice review.
Thanks for watching Scotty!
Magnets loose their properties with increasing temperature. Actually get stronger the colder they are. 😊

You know what else is a wind guard and doesn't cost $30? Aluminum foil. And you already own it.

Just ordered them. THEY DO NOT WORK WITH THE FOLD UP LID!!!
I have the fold up lid and they work perfectly. Maybe you ordered the wrong ones?
