awesome thanks , is it possible to edit a dockerfile too on the interface , i have docker-compose.yaml file but one service is built from a local Dockerfile and i have a question , so you are creating a VM for each service ? is it really a VM or docker container
Hello! Yes you can edit the dockerfile in the interface! In my specific videos I am doing one VM per each service. This is because it is easier to show all the steps that are needed if there are like directories or packages to be installed and cleaner to see. But in my specific homelab I have a few VMs that are running multiple docker containers since there's not much of a need to do one per service :) Hope that helps!
Currently I utilize an Oracle Linux 8 server, but you should be able to do this with pretty much any mainstream linux distro ( debian, ubuntu, centos, rhel, etc ) so it'll depend on the flavor you want to try!
Hey man. I was just trying to find a vid on how you have gitlab and awx setup. do you have one ? like for how to install it in your environment and set it up. I looked at your automation series and its videos on how to use it not how to setup.
Hey seanriley1968! Yes I do have a Gitlab and AWX setup, they're actually part of my Homelab series of things that I have found that you could self host :) Gitlab Server: th-cam.com/video/k1eb-OO1lDE/w-d-xo.html&pp=gAQBiAQB AWX Server: th-cam.com/video/OLIktAb9-FY/w-d-xo.html&pp=gAQBiAQB Some Gitlab/AWX Automation: th-cam.com/video/0bfI53M_s3o/w-d-xo.html&pp=gAQBiAQB
hi drew. according to what the developer of dockge says in his github repo you're not pronouncing it right. he says: "'Dockge' is a coinage word which is created by myself. I hope it sounds like Dodge". so not "dock gee" it should be "dock dg" (where dg rhymes with the "dge" of words like "dodge", "edge", "badge", and the "e" isn't pronounced) i hope that's helpful!
Hahaha yeah :D I've just said it long for so long that I say it like that out of habit :) been trying to correct myself whenever I say it and notice it now haha :D
Hi!

Great YT! Do you have a Linux server you would recommend to install Dockage on?

@@sassdrew8141 I'm looking to do this with Debian. As soon as I figure that out.
