The game glitches and you head back to Lavender Town. The egg is still in your inventory, you decide to keep it. At the next area, you have an option to put the egg in, you decide to. Nothing else happens, till you notice a strange black and white Pokemon. Turns out, it can speak. They speak of Gaster, then they disappear. The rest of the game plays out like normal.
