Fender makes some excellent acoustic guitars. Lately, Fender has made some strong improvements in their acoustic guitar offerings.

Ive got a newer fender acoustic model, the C-something or other ## model (cc 60 but it’s got a cutaway) has a badass fishman pickup system in it. it’s freakin awesome. I played about 15 different acoustics in the guitar center acoustic room, it was the best, most resonant one of all the rest of the $500ish models I played.
My grandpa told me I could get whatever I wanted around $600 total and that’s why I picked.

I recently got a Fender CC60-S All Mahogany, changed the plastic nut and saddle for bone, put on some D'Addario Phosphor Bronze and now it sounds PHENOMENAL, like a much more expensive instrument. Great guitar if you ask me.

I did the same thing with mine (spruce too, though I would prefer mahogany but I can't find a lefty model) but I used TUSQ
The volume and sustain were INCREDIBLE! For sure this upgrade makes all the difference!

I love my Fender Hellcat. It's pretty close to the first one demo'd in this video except for cool fret markers- it has a solid mahogany top, maple neck with binding on a rosewood fretboard (now walnut), good tuners, and can be plugged in including a tuner of course. While the "ingredients" are all right, I'll admit that after seeing 3 of them the build quality coming out of China is not great. All 3 had pretty obvious flaws from sloppy workmanship. But the price was right and I've grown to love it more and more despite the visible glue coming out of the bridge, and I can't even remember now what other things I found. Its a bit beat up, been dinged a couple times, the satin finish on the back of the neck is fully gloss as well as just beyond the pickguard where I anchor my fingers. It was the perfect guitar to transition from a very cheap laminate Yamaha as I became more interested in playing. I'd highly recommend a Fender acoustic.

As a through and through Taylor guy, the Fender Newporter is a great acoustic guitar in the price range. I was seriously blown away at how good it was/is and it is the best sounding and playing Fender acoustic I have played. Until I played that model, I thought all Fender acoustics sucked.

Solid top guitars do NOT improve with age if you live in a dry climate. The lack of humidity warps the wood. They also get out of tune much quicker. Laminated woods are much stronger and resistant to warping.

I was recently shopping for my first solid wood acoustic, having a couple fender electrics I was interested in their acoustics. The fenders played fine, but consistently sounded boxy compared to almost everything else around the price.

Rocky Racoon: ah one of the most overlooked companies, but they produce some of the best Acoustics money can buy. Guild is another one that gets overlooked sometimes, but i been fortunate enough to own one of each.
both guitars i paid 500 for, but very good.
the Acoustasonics are a little too expensive for Fender.
there nice, i tried a few myself, but there not worth 1999 though.
the Player Series verion felt like a 400 dollar Acoustic if im being honest,
the American version felt like it was around 1000. only because of what it can do,
but that's about as high id put it.
anyway glad your enjoying your Godin.

The 12 string is great, but the classic nylon string CN-140SCE Thinline feels somehow like toy compared to my 1970s Kasuga G-312. Bought it, because i needed a replacement for my Kasuga due 50 years of fret wear and because i liked the 12 String CD-140SCE-12.

I love fender electrics and im big into acoustics but to be honest I've never met a fender acoustic that impressed me. The low end models are adequate if thats your price point but you can find better players for the same money. Maybe its just not their speciality. But all that really matters is that you like it and it plays easy for you.

I recently bought Fender Redondo from their California series. I went for the limited All Mahogany version, which is one of the few models that's not painted, because for the love of anything holy I do not understand why they would paint solid wood guitars. But all that aside, I was genuinely surprised by the build quality, how great the action is, how well it stays in tune even with that weird strat headstock. That satin finish makes it very easy to slide up and down the neck, which imo is an improvement over the high-gloss finish on their CD-60. And slim C shape neck profile makes it feel like I'm playing my strat or tele - super comfortable for someone like me with relatively small hands. I love that it's solid wood body, cause it'll only get better with age. Would 100% recommend to anybody who's looking for an acoustic on a budget.
EDIT: I just read my comment back, and realised I sound like an advert. Guess I was just really surprised by how decent it was.

    @somethingelsedoesmatter 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Probably finding this video too late, but oh well, already have a Newporter ordered (Player, not Special, though... Don't have the extra $$$ for that).
It's weird, because I played a Malibu oh, 20-25 years ago, and ever since then, I wanted one of my own. It was this nice aqua green kinda burst, and it played amazingly. The new Malibu - based on TH-cam videos, at least - sounds kinda terrible, by comparison. The Newporter sounded a lot closer to my memory.
Hoping I don't regret my choice whenever it arrives, but I'm not that great a player anyhow, so not like it matters too much. I do love me that Fender headstock.

Gs mini is amazing. Beautiful sound in a small package. It was too quiet for me so I sold it on Craigslist. Went back to my 15 year old cheap Ibanez.

don’t buy a fender 115. I wanted to learn and bought a new cheap $120. It was awful with imperfections. Really surprised a name like Fender would put their name on it. Paint missing on places, a repair on the back and worse of all razor sharp parts on the middle of a few frets. Sent it back next day and bought a $250 guitar.. so my advice is don’t buy a cheap guitar for your first one, spend a little more to get a better quality one..

Lots of buzz while you played that CC60. One should've been a damn fool to buy it (if it is really bad as presented here) when there are other options in "parlor/concert" size category, namely Harley Benton Traveler E mini and CLP15 ME (who even have good built-in electroacoustic pickups).

I have a CC-60S, it sounds terrible, just plain terrible. I'd literally rather play entry level, laminate models from other brands than Fender's budget solid tops, even a random, unknown brand will do better than Fender. It's just terrible. Maybe I got a particularly bad unit, but that's the point. If you can't count on the brand name, then what's the point of having a brand?

  • @trevorD1156

Simple answer, no. Everything fender makes in Mexico sounds thin, Feels cheap, and isn't worth buying.

Fender has never made "good" acoustic guitars. Every time Fender comes out with a new line of acoustics, I try them out... and every time, they sound like a plastic box with strings on it. At ALL price points... If you only have $200 to spend on an acoustic, you're better off getting a Yamaha. Even their cheap stuff is good.

I second that. I have a Yamaha FG-830 which, for around $300, is mind boggling. I added a K&K Pure Mini (which I've seen in $5,000 custom guitars) and for $450 is almost impossible to beat.

Just want to say that is an error to say that Fender made this CC lime of guitars. They are made in Indonesia by any Asian company and rebranded.
I have a cc60s and I really hope that it is a Cort 😀. Not the best guitar in the world but good Enough.

I just keep reminding myself how Fender acted when they owned Guild guitars
    They blew it royally
They don’t have the mindset to make acoustic instruments
Advice for Fender stick to making your slab guitars before someone gets hurt 🤮
