Never in my mind would imagine I would play final fantasy and be listening to Yakuza/Shin Megami Tensei Music while fighting a Halo Elite with Daddy Issues
The moment that drop hit in the cutscene I immediately went "O H. Now THIS is proper ass kicking music" love this track and definitely excited to try and get the music/wings later.
During the preview weekend, our tank flat said "I appreciate you all but understand this isn't music to ready check to" and yeah, we just kept going at him till he went down
I was initially offput by the theme cos it gave me whiplash, but man after running it a few times this shit hits hard, I love it's just pure headbang chaotic energy. Fight is pretty cool too, his dual blue swords phase 2 reminds me of Rellana from Elden Ring
To be fair it was a pretty foregone conclusion. The second you see them you say "Ok both the Mamool Ja are clearly antagonists and we're gonna have to kill one or both of them".
@@alternativefivevt Meh. When it's a spoiler so obvious Stevie Wonder could see it coming I guess I just don't consider it something worth fussing about.
In fairness, the spoiler isn't necessarily in that we face the character, but when we face them. Us throwing down with Zodiark wasn't a spoiler. The spoiler was it being the FIRST trial. There's spoilers in placement, as well as musical themes. You hear this, just based on what you know of Zoraal Ja, as if level 94 or so, and techno Doom music is going to spoil through tones alone. For the first two weeks or so, I'd think no names is reasonable
@Flawless-Walrus While I agree with naming it "97 trial" or something, I dont think there is a single person who thought Zoraal Ja would be the final antagonist if they have played the other expansions. Trials and Dungeons happen at the same level each time and each time there's a tertiary antagonist that shows up and is obviously the real villain. Its a spoiler in putting names to placement within the MSQ sure, but lets not act like most of us knew the story beat for beat at the start because the story progression is formulaic as fuck. This expansion for lack of a better phrase is Shadowbringers but with Lyse.
@@BiggieT04 It goes beyond just that. . . . . . . . . . . . . . Solution Nine and Heritage Found are literally parts of the Kingdom of Alexandria, and anytime Sphene is on the screen they play the FFIX soundtrack.
Honestly Zoraal Ja is one or the best villains we've had in this game. Call me crazy but I was never a fan of Zenos and the games obsession with making him relatable. Zoraal Ja is just a badaas villian who you can reliably hate while still having that bit of humanity to where he's not evil for the sake of evil
@@ApMreckoning True, the burden is really on the player, not the video poster. still nice to have the poster avoid spoilers but its not MANDATORY. Daddy Issues: the Theme
theres already a daddy issues theme, so now we have 2!
@@zeehero7280 Daddy Issues 2: Daddy Harder
@@zeehero7280 Wait, what was the first? We talking about Werlyt?
I'm glad soken was allowed to be experimental again with this expansion after ff16
Doing this trial I couldn't decide if I should heal my team or headbang. Such a bop.
headbang your team!
As a fellow healer, the answer was clear ... anyways, I had to mass res a few times to clear this fight.

Phase transition was amazing.
this fight on extreme is brutal!
waiting for my static to be ready to try it
I love the nasty energy. At that point he's just all hate and you feel it.
I swear the FF franchise has the best music in gaming existence.
Facts ❤
a few other games come close in their own ways. but none match it.
absolutely was not expecting this to be the theme for the trial. it slaps so well; really showcases zoraal ja’s obsession.
This song is so dirty i love it. and it goes super well with the whole intensity of the fight and the phase transition its wooow Chef's Kiss
This is giving me Mick Gordon vibes for this trial.
Zoraal Ja is actually mic gordon, who knew
Was thinking the same!
Daddy experiment, nasty drop
Feels like Battle Toads meets Killer Instinct meets Monday Night Football meets Earthbound last boss fight.
Killer Instinct vibes on this one, big time.
didn't expect him to go devil may cry mode

brother is cookING
Doomslayer got sent into Tron by mistake...what a banger! :)
Soken really cooked this expac, huh?
YESSIR!
Does he ever not?
@shinobirecords2018 he always cooks. But this time he REALLY cooked
I mean only this and solution 9 tracks are decent, the rest however....
@@TheLiberatingdevsss heritage found is good, and some of the sad music is good and this one theme they keep playing during some of the fights

that's what i was thinking XD gives off demi fiend vibes
Same thought. Plus final zone will make you think "Am I playing 4A"
Just when you think they cannot outdo themselves in the sound department.

sounds extremely corpus at one point hmmmmmmmm
very cool
Maybe I'm just FFIX brained but I'm not the only one catching hints of that OST in this, right?
very much so
There could be influences from Dark Messenger and Necron but I don't actually hear any motifs if they are there.
Well... I'd say it was probably intentional
Well, Solution Nine was named pretty much directly after a spell in FFIX, so no coincidence at all.
