    Impressive channel. I have to tell you....there's one question I keep asking myself over and over as I watch your videos. "How much are these guys spending producing these videos???" You clearly have some pros (or pros in the making) filming and editing your content. The production quality is on par with what you see on the cable channels (HGTV/DIY), yet you guys are averaging about 10K views per recent video. So, I'm guessing you're spending thousands on each video and making about $20 on each (so far). I guess this is one big commercial channel for your company, and you're looking at it as a long term investment. Man. That is gutsy. I hope it pays off. You guys look like a solid outfit.

      Hi John, very perceptive observation! It is high level marketing for our company as well as a long term investment. Thanks for your input and for watching !

    Never touch lead coated copper with bare hands (it's lead), always wear gloves. Vycor Plus tape is a bitumen tape based on asphalt it's not a butyl tape. I'd recommend not using a silicone caulk behind the trim, instead use OSI Quad is more flexible and made of elastomeric polymers and high-quality synthetic resins. Considering the guy in charge says he has only 2 years experience, I guess those type mistakes can be expected.

    Major mistake of putting the BlueSkin under the flashing instead of over the flashing. That is definitely will leak everywhere. You can't rely on the rainscreen or siding.

    I'd be interested in more information about the PT deck sleepers on the EPDM roofing. Is there any spacer between the rubber roof and lumber, or are the sleepers just sitting directly on the membrane? If this is the case, is there any concern about premature wear on the membrane? By the way, I'm really liking your channel, and the opportunity to see more of your quality work. I've enjoyed your work on TOH. Thank you!

      I always put a piece of sill sealer between my PT and the rubber roofing. I don’t know if it does anything or not but it makes me feel better logically.

    This channel is amazing and the saw dust videos are great. This feels to me like a huge hit in the making, a lot like this old house, but improved in my opinion. Good luck and great job! A fellow carpenter from MA.

    Great video series Jeff! Very informative and educational. Being from the west coast it's always fascinating to see the way you guys build out east and the regulations you have to comply with for your the costal regions.

      I hate complaining or nitpicking and I certainly couldn't do better but I completely agree, that repeating the same scene from different angles was annoying. Strange choice for some otherwise amazing videos.

    How about a video on client management? It isn't difficult to build a house. The management of clients is the essential key to building a successful project and a successful business. Without that nothing works.

    As a texan, that last part about the deeding as non-buildable about gave me an anxiety attack. Liking the videos, showing more of the nuanced details is always great. Such as the siding composition. I've never heard about a fly ash poly siding.

    • @aayotechnology
      @aayotechnology 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Excellent information.
    How do you keep the city water/sewage from freezing on an elevated house?

    • @Sweenorbuilders
      @Sweenorbuilders  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question Robert. The sewer comes out of conditioned building and drops vertically through unconditioned space until it reaches below the frost line before turning horizontal again so it won't have a chance to freeze. For the waterline there is a charged filament wire that is installed directly into the waterline for the length required until the line is below the frost line. Basically heat tape that goes inside the waterline vs wrapped around it. It is available in different lengths and plugs into a standard 110v outlet inside the building.
