In America, the family farm practcjicing mixed agriculture wsa called "the backbone of the country, even more because of the disproportionate number of leading managers that grew up on these traditional family farms than because of the high quality food they produced. A new model of holistic research and research university is needed to support the conservation, restoration, and development of regions tha integrate human and natural systeims.

Erdély történelme sok évszázadon át összefonódott a magyar nép, az egész Magyarország történetével. A honfoglalástól Erdély a magyar állam része lett. A 16. században az ország három részre szakadása után török függésben létrejött a korlátozott államisággal rendelkező Erdélyi Fejedelemség, de ez nem jelentette a kapcsolatok megszakadását Magyarországgal csakúgy, mint ahogy később a Habsburg-fennhatóság sem. A gazdasági és kulturális szálak végig összefűzték a területeket, a királyi Magyarország és az Erdélyi Fejedelemség újraegyesítésének törekvései tovább éltek. 1848-ban az erdélyi országgyűlés kimondta az uniót Magyarországgal, bár a nem magyar nemzetiségek jelentős részének ellenkezése dacára, de a két ország politikai egységének történeti tudata és a társadalmi haladás jegyében. A kiegyezés után Erdély az Osztrák-Magyar Monarchia keretében Magyarországhoz tartozott, majd Trianon elszakította az országrészt és az 1918-tól Romániához került. 1940-ben Észak-Erdélyt Magyarország kapta meg a második bécsi döntésben, majd a második világháború után ez a rész is visszakerült Romániához.

Erdèly’is the old hungarian tribe szèkely people ‘s home from the beginning. But then forget to Tell the truth to the world. Transylvania never Been romanian...it was part of the old Hungarian kingdom before Trianon,! people...read history! We hungarians proud of our land forever belong to us. @@baxiber643 before Triannon it was part of the Austrian Empire, i'm sorry to tell you this but Hungary collapsed in the 15th century conquered by the ottomans for 200 years roughly and then the Hasburg Empire and became a new state in 1918. Transylvania stayed more years under Austria than has been under Hungary and actually the Germans are the only ones who developed the region from the Saxon cities to other rather large cities like Cluj or Timisoara which are undeniable Austrian. The typical hungarian architecture can be found in rural villages in Harghita or Covasna but it doesn' really extend more than that.

The romanian migration in Transylvania and Banat was under the habsburg ocupation and after 1918 , 2 000 000 romanian from Moldova and Oltenia. The Transylvanian people never voted for unification with Romania! @@bujdososzekely actually a lot of Hungarian/ germans got their name changed by the Romanian government that's why the rise of "Romanian" population, for instance, my family from both sides got their name changed to a Romanian one and as well forced to convert to orthodoxy, at that time no one in Transilvania was orthodox just immigrants.
