Thank you for reviewing the Ancient Faith Study Bible. It is one of my favorite bibles. I love reading the scripture commentary of early church fathers. Holman did a great job with this Bible.

The same Church that preserved the text of the New Testament is the Church that preserved the writings of the Church Fathers. If you can't trust them for one, it seems hard to understand why you would trust them for the other.

Technically speaking trinitarianism is heretical. Just saying...

Well for one I am not a Fundamentalist so that is how I interpret history and the Bible. According to Scholars Bart D Ehrman, Micheal Bird and Timothy Luke Johnson to name three from an agnostic, conservative and Catholic disciplines, of which there are more, all have in common that the Trinity was not the original doctrine of the 12 Apostles and Jesus. It was a developed theology. And according to Pope Julius 1 Marcellus of Ancyra who was an alleged modalist was considered Orthodox according it to the Nicene Creed not to mention is closely associated with athanasius. So in summary I would say we are all heretical as far as deviating from the original Doctrine considering the definition of heresy. To be honest I do not put a lot of stock in the words such as Orthodoxy and heresy. I think each individual document should be treated separately and interpreted accordingly. Sorry for the long answer brother it's kind of a in the weeds topic.

The CSB has replaced the ESV as my main Bible translation. I do have this Bible, and I like it a lot and I do take it with me to Church, but the size of Bibles do not bother me.

On the box it states the print size for the text is 10.25 and 8 for the notes. The Bible is Smyth Sewn, and the text is line matched. It's a great Bible and translation.

Beautiful bible filled with interesting information. Always enjoy reading CSB version. I have this in black goat skin with salmon art gilt, 3 ribbons, nice large print. Absolutely enjoy spending time reading God’s word in this Ancient Faith Bible.

Your Review makes this Bible more appealing. I picked up this Bible at least three times -- loved the box, but the inside contents quickly turned me off. Can't even point to a specific reason-- just didn't like it. Loved your Review of it though 😊✔️

Adding this one to my CBD shopping cart. I have always wanted to read more about the church fathers but what they penned about women gives me the jitters and my anxiety goes thru the roof. Yes I know many of their views on women was influenced but Plato, Aristotle and their kind. Pray for me pastor. Thanks for the awesome review. Have a bless day in Jesus name.

You clearly have never read Saint John Chrysostom’s commentaries on the Mother of God and the Myrrh-bearing women. Literally the reason why we consider Saint Mary Magdalene one of the greatest saints and Equal to the Apostles. Or Equal to the Apostles Saint Thekla.

@@CharlesSeraphDrums Yes you are absolutely correct, I have never read anything by St. John Chrysostom. Adding it to my reading list. God bless you.

Wow! Sounds like a great Bible. As an Orthodox, I really appreciate the notes from the church fathers and ESPECIALLY John Chrysostom. This would supplement very well my Orthodox Study Bible. Thanks for another great review.

You are made in the Image of the Living God. Do not harm yourself. Do you know where you will go when you die? Jesus Christ is God the Son, the Righteous One, died for our sins and rose again, to the right Hand of God the Father, so that there is no condemnation for those who believe on Him. Jesus Christ is God the Son and entered into His own creation. Jesus was born of a virgin, died for the sins of the world. He was dead for three days. He defeated death and has the keys to Life and Death. On the cross, our Lord and Savior said "it is finished". Amen. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believes on Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life. Jesus Christ rose from the dead three days after His crucifixion, and because He raised Himself from the dead, and the Father raised Him from the dead and the Holy Spirit raised Him from the dead, we who are in Him, shall also be raised on that day of the coming of our Lord and Savior.
      Revelation 20:6
“Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power...” We will be with God for eternity. Mark 1:15, KJV: "And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel." Gospel means good news. Jesus Christ is God. Our Creator. God is Triune. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God is One. Three Persons in the Divine and Holy Trinity.
Romans 1:20, KJV “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" Psalm 14
      King James Version
14" The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God..."
Imputed righteousness is the righteousness of Jesus Christ credited to the Christian, enabling the Christian to be justified; imparted righteousness is what God does in Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit after justification, working in the Christian to enable and empower the process of sanctification.
Hebrews 4:12, KJV: "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Repent and believe the Gospel. We don't have to come under the wrath of a JUST and TRUE GOD. All have sinned. If you've lied even once, stolen, lusted, you have sinned. None of our "good works" earns Heaven. Jesus did all the work for us who believe on Him. Jesus is the ONLY NAME under Heaven by which we might be saved.
      Warning:
      Galatians 1:8-9
      King James Version
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

I knew you’d have a review for this! I’m about to buy either this or the ESV Study Bible. Im not sure which to buy as im not familiar with either translations because I prefer KJV.
This is a fairly old video but im hoping you catch this and maybe nudge me towards a decision. I’ve found them both for about $25 so even cost isn’t helpful. 🫤 I basically want them for the “extras” that might offer new information and insights.
Thank for the reviews! I find them to be extremely helpful.
