Mental but not a suprise. I always said DJ Rap tunes from back in the day always have a signature melodic intro who ever put this together is more than just bass and beats. Even the intros that were sampled there was something there that said this person knows how to drag euphoria out of you . An intro can really make or break a tune to an extent. I posted a comment somewhere years ago asking how this was made. I didn't know if it was a sample or not. Straight piano is GORGEOUS. It's odd how I can sort of make out the melody (and I can hear it's in the same key) but not sure how it fits into the way we hear it on the record. I second what some others have said - a version of the song with bare piano would be amazing. Or at least a pre-intro (is that a real term?!) of the piano that then transitions into the original opening. Please, please!
Sober life is the only way to live. I had my fun too but saw shortly that it was doing me no good. Most of my good friends are dead from that period. I lost count of the friends I lost to chemicals. Mushrooms are the only thing I F with. I'm 45, too young to have this many dead friends!
