Rodan helped Godzilla because a Godzilla Jr. is Rodan's half-brother. it's more if a Godzilla Jr. needing a guardian as he grows up rather than Rodan actually wanting to help Godzilla.

I think a big reason Kiryu had an advantage though is because well, he kinda WAS godzilla thats why his hand to hand was so good (at least i think so) but Mechagodzilla 2 lost from yea those two things which i guess rodan's reason was "EFF THIS GUY WE BOTH HATE HIM!" lol i dunno i like em both

I disagree on the firepower statement. M3 did had better melee offense and defense, but it's long range weaponry hardly phased Godzilla. The shoulder missiles and mouth beam where both shrugged off by Godzilla and M3 could never land its chest cannon attack.
M2 however, crippled Godzilla twice, nearly killing him the second time. M2 only lost because of a couple plot holes like Godzilla reversing the electrical flow somehow and Rodan helping Godzilla for no reason.

No, actually, it isn't. It could'nt deal with Godzilla at all when he got up close with it. Its real power lies in its ranged capabilities. In melee combat it gets its but handed to it.

Its true, thats what made him lose. Kiryu however was built for both Firepower and Melee, and if you notice he's the only mecha who didnt get blown to pieces, unlike his predecesors, who both Got obliterated. MG1 exploded TWICE XD

Technically, you're wrong and right. Heisei era Mechagodzilla is trademarked as Mechagodzilla 2, were as Showa MG is referred to as Mechagodzilla 2 in ToM.
