So this is a good opportunity for me to go inward and figure out what I want to do about those issues. I can't ask her to change; I have to redraw some boundaries and change my expectations. It's all my work to do, and it's all good work -- although I've never done this before, so I stand by my statement that I don't know whether we can recover from this. Maybe I can make the necessary internal changes, and maybe I won't be able to. Hence the importance of this separation. I need this time to figure things out -- just like Ali was saying in the reading. Peace out.
