This is actually a cover of a Black Group named Tavaers, they sang "Heaven must be missing an Angel", " Never head a Love like this Before" and of course a song the Bee Gees made Famous, "More than a Woman".

@@captainprototype187 Ahhh, I just found out no ones really wrong via a study. Hall and Oates released this in 73' on some obscure Album before they were Famous. Tavares released this in 1974 and made it a semi hit. Then Hall and Oates released it on a 1976 Album and it became a HUGE HIT. So Tavares did release this before H&O made it a nationwide hit, BUT H&O had already released this in 73 but it got no play nationwide, only in the Philly/Northeast Markets. LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY.
      From Wiki
"She's Gone" is a song written and originally performed by the American duo Daryl Hall and John Oates. The soul ballad[3] is included on their 1973 album, Abandoned Luncheonette.
In 1974, the American R&B vocal group Tavares covered the song for their album, Hard Core Poetry. The brothers' version of the song became a hit, topping the U.S. R&B chart and peaking at No. 50 on the Hot 100.
They released it on another Album in 76 and released it as a single. You never know,. because a lot of those Black Groups songs were rereleased by white groups, just like More than a Woman by the Bee Gees.
Hell I thought Hall and Oates first Album was the one in 76 !!

Mr, Thanx, I learnt something about a great song. Tavares is a very good harmonizing group and I know they did this song justice. The Beegees are great But I like Tavares' original version of More Than A Woman better. It is a lot more Philly Soulful.

@@captainprototype187 That's the whole point. In The UK Philly Soul is just as popular now as it ever was. For example, It Only Takes A Minute was the "First" Hit for the UK Boy Band Take That who did it on Top Of The Pops that although wasn't inspired by American Bandstand is still legendary and still on The Air. You Are Everything by The Stylistics was featured on The Finale Of Pop Idol (UK) when Gareth Gates (The Runner Up), sang it with Rachel Stevens formerly of S Club 7. The Three Degrees are still icons in the UK, and Philly Songs have been featured on Soap Operas, and TV Series. This Song was inspired when John Oates was stood up on New Year's Eve and it became their Breakthrough Hit.

"Rich Girl" is another big hit from them. It would be rare I think if someone reacted to that one. As are most of your awesome choices for this channel!

They are the most successful Duo in Music. They first met in Philadelphia, PA when they were in a Battle Of The Bands sponsored by Fraternity Houses at their College Temple. They met in of all places An Elevator. Daryl was in a Group called The Temptones (named after Temple University) and they would open for The Temptations when they would come to town to do a Show. John was in a Group called The Masters. They left Philly in 1969 and it took a couple of years but this was their Breakthrough song. it was inspired when John was stood up on a Date for New Year's. Also if you can, check out Daryl's work with The Temptones, you would think you were listening to some old school forgotten Motown Songs.

Darrell Hall and John Oates wrote, produced and recorded this song. Yes it's the original song, from them alone.

One of the true singer/songwriter classics from the early 70's, and I think, their best song. Along with "Sara Smile". Though they had a string of big hits back then. They got overly poppish and lost this sound.

I enjoy your reactions, particularly on Hall & Oates, She's gone. Have you considered doing any reactions on Harry Chapin. If you are unfamiliar with his work, he was a singer/songwriter of folk music in the 1970's to early 1980's. His music are not songs, but stories that are lyrical. Imagine someone singing a short story; that is Harry Chapin.
    Harry Chapin's top songs were;
    1. Cat's in the Cradle
    2. Taxi
    3. Sequel (sequel to Taxi)
    4. 30,000 pounds of bananas (live version)
    5. Tangled up Puppet

Hall & Oates is a American Duo from Philadelphia and has been labeled the most Successful Duo in history on the US Charts. They are called "Blue Eyed Soul" since their musical roots are from R&B and the Motown sound.

One On One is another great song that I heard , only in 1989. I bought the second hand album Rock and Soul Part One. A collection of their songs from the early 70s to the early 80s. The album was and still is in very good conditoin, btw.
