My mom came into my room while I was watching this and so I brought it up. Unsurprisingly I was immediately shut down :(
Dang man
Do it when you are older, like go to a japanese university.
@@radialmachinery9947 I'm a senior now and most likely going to try for a college that does semesters abroad. I am happy to say I was able to go on a trip to Japan this summer! Beautiful country.
日本の高校はとても楽しくて大変です!私は今、日本の高校に通っています。あなたが行けなかったのは残念ですが、日本の大学に行けるといいですね。私たちは友達になれるかな?
I wanna go too for highschool
Oh gosh this all seems so daunting and complicated and I only have like a year to prepare wish me luck
I started day dreaming during the entire video
I’m interested and have been and looking into this for a while but that 300 dollar application fee just to get turned down turns me away
Mine is only $50. Another person I watched said that unless you have horrible GPA then you'll probably get accepted. Imagine all the money you have to pay for tuition. That including visa, school, money for your host parent. I can tell you the youtuber if that could help!
@@naomiparco3332 Tell me plz!!! Also can I go in my freshman year
@@chaniyahb6629 probably but don’t do it, you’d be an equivalent of a middle schooler (japan goes by years and highschool only has 3 years.) in america it goes: freshman, sophomore, junior, senior. and in japan it goes sophomore, junior, senior if they went by that system of course
I'm 14 this year, 1 question I want to ask. If I want to go study in Japan(high-school) do I have examination to be accepted in the school? Or anything that I need to do to be accepted there?
it depends on the school and the program, i’m looking forward to studying in 11th grade but supposedly you have to apply to schools and see which schools accept you.
Hight school in Japan is 15-17
@@supercoolyoutubeuser00 I want to ask about the documents you need to apply for school like letter of recommendation etc
I might be able to go my next school year! My school just started this program and my parents agreed if the price is right…! I’ll follow up in a few months hopefully
Do I have to be fluent in Japanese to go to a Japanese high school?
Nope! At lot of us had beginner Japanese! You learn most of your Japanese while you’re there. Hope that helps!
No only if you want to work in Japan 🇯🇵
you can go to an international high school where they speak all english
ということで、かなり遅れていることは承知しています(笑)。でも、日本語の基礎は必要です。残りはそこで学べます。とても簡単なので、ぜひ行ってみてください!
My school doesn’t support foreign exchange, and I have money but not enough for exchange
Idk why but I really wanna exchange to Japan since I was like 10 and I didn’t really think that was possible till a few months ago
Same
bro this is literally me. im on summer break about to be a freshman in high school and wanting to do an exchange in sophmore year and it feels like an actual possibility.
Hey nice vid was just curious what age you were when you went to Japanese high school?
she was 15/16! (she said it on her tiktok a while ago)
Can you do a video of how to learn Japanese by yourself please??
I know I'm a bit late watching this video. But, I'm currently in the 8th grade and I want to study abroad in the 10th grade. I'm just having a difficult time deciding where I want to study abroad to (either Japan or South Korea). And I wanted to know if there is a way I can do both! Like, if I were to study in Japan one year. Then South Korea the next year. Am I able to do that?! 💗
I know I'm not her, but I think it is entirely possible so long as you have the money and determination!!! I would check with your hs counsler and see how the process would work. You can start doing research and learning korean and japanes now though!!! Best of luck, let me know how it goes!
@@filmsbyfinn. I'm sorry that I replied late, but thank you so much!! I'm so thankful that someone has confidence in my dreams of traveling 😭💗 and the fact that you took time out of your day to reply to my comment says a lot. I will make sure to try my hardest!!!
@@YourSou1mat3 No problem! I share your dream of travelling abroad, as a fellow incoming freshman. I wish you the best of luck!!! I believe in you!! If you’d like some program recommendations I’d be happy to recommend you some!!!!
There is definitely a way! I’m sorry for being late replying. I took a long hiatus from social media. Honestly yes there is a way! You have to get with your school for high school so hopefully they can work something out. I know E2020 is called something different but you can always accelerate your schooling your freshmen year to do so. I would also email a program (like ASSE for example) to see if it’s been done and they’ll really work with you! It was my dream too and it still is possible 💜
返事が遅くなってすみません。でも、もちろんできますよ!私は生まれてからずっと日本に住んでいて、ここが大好きだと言えます。日本の高校は楽しくて、大変で、かわいくて、刺激的なので、あなたには両方必要だと願っています!
Can you explain the loop hole? My family wants me to go but I'm on anti-depressants. I'm fully functioning without it, its mostly just a stabilizer for anxiety and such
for the exchange does your family have to house a student in place of you or do they have to sign up to host because I think having to host a random person will be a deal breaker
This is the most common question! The answer is NO you don't have to host someone else! I wouldn't have been able to go if my family had to host someone
Hello, I'm 13 years old I'm currently in 8th grade and, I would like to study abroad to Japan when I turn into a sophomore. So... I was wondering if you could please give us one of the links to one of these programs.
Do you know any good websites ? I’m becoming a sophomore when summer ends and I want to study abroad. I just wanna have a fresh start and a unique experience!
I don't even have a school counselor or programs like these ....my school is kinda weird ....
How did you get ahold of the school? Does your school have to have a foreign exchange program, or is it just something pretty much every school helps out with?
It’s been ten months she’s not gonna answer
It’s with your high school that you work out your schooling and your program you apply to, to go on exchange will put you with your Japanese high school. My home high school only helped me with the academic side of things since I didn’t want to redo a year of school
is it possible to go on exchange for more than a year? Right now, I'm in 6th grade and learning Japanese to be prepared because and I want to go for the rest of high school.
Wait do you know if Japan allows any Asthma medication?
it depends on the type of asthma medication (the name of the medication)
it also depends on the organization. some are very strict with their health regulations requirements and such.
its currently october and i turn 18 in december, im from the uk so i finish my school year around july and i was wondering if i could still go for next year even if i am already 18
I’m bummed. I want to go for my freshman year and my grades in 7th grade are horrible cause during covid it became horrible for me and it was hard to be motivated to do school work.
if you keep working hard, you can do it! i believe in you :)
yes same :(
Maybe you can go your junior year! You got this, I know I have been worrying about my GPA because I want to go super bad
@@naomiparco3332 Im hopefully going for my Sophomore year!!
I’ve always wanted to foreign exchange since 6th grade and I’m a sophomore in highschool now. Do you think it’s to late for me to exchange considering it’s January and their schools start in April?
Also how did get the funds to go abroad? I went on ASSE website and it said the fee is 12,500!
I don’t think it’s too late for you to apply to exchange. It all depends on the programs you are choosing.
I was thinking about the same thing in 7 grade now im 8 grade im almost going to high school im telling my permets the first time saide to my mom at first she saide no but when i begged for. a long time she finalay saide yes and at first time with my dad he saide yes im going to be exange student in japan in city of tokyo how can i apply to be a exange student

would asthma keep me from being able to apply to go on exchange to japan? or ion deficiency? It doesnt keep me from being able to do things. however the inhaler and iron pills help to make life easier.
Hello Bella! 😊I’m going to Japan (high school exchange) halfway throughout 2022 and will stay there for a year. I have filled the documents and applied for the exchange, but my Japanese is at a very low level. Do you have any tips for what I should focus my Japanese studying on? Should I focus on self introduction, vocabulary about school, Fraces, kanji or something else. What do you recommend? (If someone that’s been on exchange are seeing this comment, than feel free to come with suggestions also❤️❤️)
Heyy I‘m also going to Japan in august 2022! How is it going so far for you?
@@joethejerk4697 Hello! I am going with AFS and they have approved my application fully so I’m very excited about that :D I have been studying as much Japanese as I have had time to and I’ve been using Wanikani A LOT. What about you?😊
@@leonorelandetrnnes8826 Hi I´m thinking about going to Japan with AFS too! O.O what country are u from? and on which level are you currently in japanese?
@@haymilkkou4130 I’m from Norway, and you? I’m definitely at a beginner level so far, but if I continue to follow my studying plan, then I will be at an n4 level when exchange starts xD💛

Huge question; My school doesn't offer middle school transcripts, im applying in my sophmore year. would that mean im not able to apply?
Just wondering but if you went to on am exchange year will you have to make up all the work for the previous school year or do you just need to take the tests?
No
I know you said that you don’t have to host another student but does that change with the different programs? Or high schools?
for the essay does it need to have hiragana, katakana and kanji?
(edit) also for the application part where it says "in your own words why do you wish to become an ASSE Exchange Student" what are some things I should put to make sure my application gets accepted?
You should do more research or call them and ask

I'm now 16.I really wanna go to Japan. Will it be good for me to go there at the age of 17?
Yes but i would suggest starting as soon as possible! Since Japan has some rules on age depending on certain programs. Like for AFS in canada the age cap for Japan is 17 and a few months
@@lilywright9020 Oh! okay.Thank you so much.😊😊
Go for it! I‘m doing it as well in august 2022 at the age of 17!
I’ll be the first exchange student from my highshool my school just opened last October
