That second level was actually beautiful. I love levels with different difficulties.
You called the second level's maps "Castelvania-like," but all I can see is Dr. Wily's Castle from Mega Man. It's even got the skull on top.
The way the map took up more than one screen and slowly scrolled from one end to the other was reminiscent of some older Castlevania games.

DGR doesn't play Castlevania games. I'd take his use of Castlevania-like with a grain of salt.

I love watching DGR. Also, "Bloody Tears" is my favorite song in a video game of all time. While those 2 things are true, somehow DGR has forever ruined "Bloody Tears" for me, as now every time I hear it, instead of just enjoying it I'll be singing "bloody tears, bloody tears, bloody tears" over and over.

I still have my childhood copy of Pagemaster for Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive here in Europe) that I play from time to time. Pretty good platformer that gets progressively more difficult, that has one theme and one enemy (the Grim Reaper) that still give me nightmares 20 years later. Never managed to 100% it but I hope to do this before I hit 30 years of age. Not much time left though haha
Because of you I now make way harder levels for my friends thanks for everything Dave

I'd love for Dave to play one of my levels someday. I tried on my birthday, I tried on Christmas, but all I got was salty coal from the Taint Daddy.
I'm still sad that DGR didn't play my submitted level. I don't know if he'll ever play our Levels again. He said maybe ever. Is it true? I.D.K.?😢😭
I kind of get that he doesn't want to be stuck for ten minutes in a bad level
I still think that a better solution would have been to just say "until it stops being fun", but I'm afraid Dave is to stubborn for that.
@@CheshireFatorum True. He does play the Troll Levels for his Troll Videos. He knows we enjoy funny content when playing Mario Maker 2.

He won't quit viewer levels. It was a clickbait theme and intended as an ultimatum to try and get people to stop submitting what he considers bad levels. I give it less than 2 months before he does another viewer level stream after seeing his sub count and profits decline.

i wish i can make levels like these...
I takes practice, but find a gimmick, be that a specific enemy type, an item quirk, or whatever, and try to build a level around that. You'll eventually get better, just don't start incorporating enemy spam or traps into your levels, because that's usually how you end up with bad levels.
@@1mariomaniac yea i stopped spamming but they are still terrible so… any ideas?
@@caruspoon5289 I find that it's easiest if you don't aim for a specific difficulty as well. When you play through try to make sure it's a decent challenge but not too difficult as to make it frustrating. If you can, get someone else to play through it, as you know the level layout, they don't. Also, if you're making a really long level, don't give it a clear condition. Clear conditions, due to being incompatible with checkpoints, are best used on short gimmick levels.
Beyond that, there's plenty of videos that go over other little tips and skills that make your levels play and look much better.

The first one wasn't anti-cheese? You literally just off-screened everything...
Still counts as anti-cheese. If that section hadn't been designed with anti-cheese in mind, then using repeated wall kicks to avoid all of the danger would actually have worked.

I like the concept of on/off switches making easy and hard modes... hope to see more levels doing that, especially harder levels!
