Hi! I really love the betta you chose, but I do have some tips for his overall aquarium. Bettas need to be housed in at least a five gallon aquarium. Pet stores tend to sell very small "tanks" for bettas to advertise the inexpensive and easy-to-care for aspect of the fish, but I would recommend upgrading your tank to a five gallon. They also need to have a filter and heater. Personally, I use a sponge filter for my betta and a preset heater that I bought at Petco. I encourage that you watch a few videos on tank setups and care for bettas, as they require a lot more care than petstores make it seem. I don't mean this comment in any negitive way and am just trying to help. Thanks!
Thank you for passing down your knowledge!!! i will start looking for a 5 gallon tank. I know there are few fish you can put in the same tank as them but do you recommend any fish i can keep in the 5 gallon with them or should i just have it by them self?
I like to have nerite or mystery snails in my 5 gallons, they get along great with bettas. If you were to get anything bigger, like a 10 gallon, I would really recommend ember tetras. I have a 10 gallon currently with 5 ember tetras and a betta, and they also get along well. Im glad I could help!! @@ezyfishkeeping
If you do end up getting a five gallon, I would just add some snails in there too. They act as a great clean up crew!!

Yeah for sure. I recommend cherry shrimp just because they breed easily, and the betta might pick off a few. You might wanna put java moss in the tank aswell, because the shrimp can hide in it. @@ezyfishkeeping

Beautiful fish But that tank is far to small for him I would recommend atleast ATLEAST a 5 gallon! also he needs multiple plants and a place to be able to hide!

Hey! No hate but that tank is way too small, also look into tank cycling!! Tanks need a good amount of beneficial bacteria that prevents the fish from dying from ammonia which is caused by their own waste. Acclimating is also important before putting a fish into a tank!
Hey thank you for the advice!! don’t worry that’s just a holding tank for now I’m going to get him some friends and some nice live plants in bigger tank also i used the same water from my 55 gallon that has been up and running for over a year don’t worry Mr Jackson storm is going to be living like a king very soon I’ll make an update video 👍❤️
@@ezyfishkeeping adding 55gal water won’t cycle a tank, better off adding a little substrate, a decoration or even putting a little used filter media in the tank as beneficial bacteria lives on surfaces not in the water. Glad you’re getting a 5gal tho and I also recommend a sponge filter for a betta. Plants are great too! Checkout some videos for Betta tank mates, there’s multiple budget friendly options👍
@ezyfishkeeping there is little to no beneficial bacteria in the water so using water from an established tank won't do anything. It still isn't cycled you need seeded filter media. I know your new to the hobby but please take your time and don't rush, also check out other youtubers for advice as it will save you a lot of heartache later down the line. King bettas just man made betta breed for their colors and size. Their aggressiveness varies between each one.

Nice betta man. But a few tips, and I see some others mentioned same thing. Bettas should be on at least a 5 gallon tank, 10 gallon would be even better. Petco does a dollar per gallon sale every few month too. Bettas also need a hearer and filter. They do best in temperatures between 74° and 82°F. And as for fault prefer something with low flow so maybe look into sponge filters. And lastly the can be shy so its good to give them hiding spots. I personally prefer live plants, but that can be a bit of a rabit hole of research itself, although I think worth it for the health of the betta and an aestheticly pleasing set up, but silk artificial plants are too. You just don't want anything with shap edges that can tear their fins. Overall I would say just do some more research, youtube is a really good source causeway the end of day Petco/Petsmart are corporations who justvwant to sell you a product regardless of if its good for the fish or not.
Thanks man I’ve been looking on Facebook market place for tanks I’ll check out when Petco is doing that dollar per gallon again I’ve heard that’s a good deal too and as far as plants i was thinking about duck weed or other floating plants and maybe some swords it’s hard to pick out plants there’s so many I’ll keep watching videos on it but thanks again for the TIPS !!! ❤️

Bigger than the cup but worse environment bc the water isn’t cycled. You need to cycle your tank, you need at least a 5 gallon tank, and you need a filter and a heater to make a betta survive and be happy. I recommend doing some more research before buying a pet. Imagine going from a cup to a Tupperware container that’s water isn’t suitable for you to survive. That fish will not be happy and probably die in that environment.
There’s TONS of Betta fish TH-camrs and articles on Google about proper care. If you can’t afford it then I would recommend surrendering your betta to someone in your area that can take better take care of him (I’m sure theirs fb groups about fish owners in your area)
Also that fake plant is too sharp it will tear up the fins - you either need silk or live plants
Well if you go back and watch the video at 4:45 i state that i used water from my already cycled tank (has been running for well over a year) and i also stated that this is only a temporary container make sure you subscribe and stay tuned for the upgrade video when i put him in his forever home
