A trick that helps a lot is using finesse braid Something in the 20- 30lbs range Finesse braid has a very thin diameter and is very strong but with little rotating mass. So when you skip and it’s not perfect the spool doesn’t keep spinning.
I fish lake of the Ozarks all the time, I have a second residence on the Gravois arm. For flipping docks I use a 7’3” St Croix heavy action with 80/10 braid and at least a half ounce jig. All my other rods I get away with 12 pound mono
Great tutorial. I remember practicing at the pond and in the yard 30 years ago. Now it's second nature. Was waiting for a biggun to come off that dock. It's a good one at times. But the lake is dead now
Nice tutorial, thanks!
You're welcome!
I’m pretty good at flipping but you guys that can skip plastic without a big backlash are amazing.

What do you mean the lake is dead?
Fishing super tough. Where's the bass?
I've gotten much better but occasionally still hook dock structures. Now I'm under pressure to try and get my lure back or cut and go.
Is that the very back of raccoon hallow?
Yes it is
