    Great video. I couldn’t help but notice that exactly at 14:30 your mount (part that is grabbing the trolling motor) is in the opposite orientation of the diagram, the slant is wide to narrow from top to bottom rather than narrow to wide from top to bottom. Is that clamp from Garmin? I ask because with the clamp I’m using and the angle it makes you install it, I have perspective pointing in an upward angle.

    • @MidwestOutdoorExperience
      @MidwestOutdoorExperience 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I’m not understanding your question, unless you’re talking about my screen being in perspective mode, but the mount being in forward mode. If that’s the case, it’s because I was in perspective when I stowed the tm, but changed the mount back to forward. The mount is from Garmin too. When you’re in perspective mode, the transducer should be angled down toward the bottom. I can help, I just can’t figure out what exactly you’re trying to ask.

    It might be helpful to some people if you mention the fact that you should never use a solid copper wire on a boat. As a boat mechanic you would not believe how many times I have seen people do this.

    • @MidwestOutdoorExperience
      @MidwestOutdoorExperience 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@davidcormany2534 ideally no, but you certainly can. The only benefit to stranded wire is the ability to flex it back and forth without weaking the wire. If you secure it properly there’s no issue. My last 2 boats over 10 years have solid copper and no issue.

  • @davidcormany2534
    @davidcormany2534 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    It looks like you ran solid copper wire from your main switch to fuse panel. Not sure, but that's what it looked like. You never want to run a solid copper wire on a boat or anything that can vibrate or move around. Plus solid copper wire will not carry the voltage stranded wire will carry. It has more resistance.

    • @MidwestOutdoorExperience
      @MidwestOutdoorExperience 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@davidcormany2534 stranded wire has greater resistance than solid, although it’s so small it wouldn’t make a difference. You can use solid, you just need to use the right connectors, which you should be using on a boat anyway. Nylocks for every nut if possible, if not you should be using lock washers and even a little loctite to be extra sure.

    I had an experience like. I was set up in a long narrow (About 100 Yds across at the widest) kinda fence row that followed a ditch. The doe came blowing in and ran behind a little scrub bush and hunkered down. Then I saw the buck come walking in about 50yds behind her. Then he stopped behind some brush where I couldn't get a shot with my bow. They had been coming straight at me so I got ready because the doe was well within range. After what seemed like forever the buck laid down. After another forever, without warning the doe broke for the edge of the woods and boom, he cut her off. She ran back to her bush and he went back to his spot and lay back down. This happened once or twice more, exactly the same way. Every time I thought for sure he would follow her in and I would get a shot but he always went back to his spot. I don't know how long it was but seemed like hours. My teeth were starting to hurt from being clenched. She finally made a dash back at him and he let her get by and away they went.
