My friend Fuji bought me Rana!!! To be honest I was kind of surprised ahah. Anyhow, I wasn't that interested in Rana before but now that I've used her a bit I'm starting to like her a lot. Her voice is more mature than I was expecting though, so I had to lower the GEN a bit for this cover. She has a few things about her consonants that are annoying, like for her "shi" there's a weird space before it kinda. Also if you isolate her consonants they're silent, which can be a bit annoying for tuning workarounds and stuff. Her voice is pretty easy to edit other than those things! It's pretty cheap for a voicebank(even if it's only for a month) so if you have a chance definitely try her out~

And when i listen to MEIKO's song. Someobe said "it's my first time listening to MEIKO's song. Her voice like miku but mature" bitch please, MEIKO is the first japanese vocaloid. And MEIKO and miku's voice is fucki'n DIFFerent!

Like, their voices are totally the same! And what are you talking about? Victora Nurumi Yeah I already know that :3 I'm a really big fan of vocaloid and tons of people keep thinking Miku was the first vocaloid when she's not even close. MEIKO is the first Japanese vocaloid while Leon and Lola were the first vocaloids ever. I was just mocking the Miku fans who think Miku is number one and that EVERYONE sounds like her (which I agree is super annoying @_@) Whose your favorite vocaloid btw? Mine's vflower! xD

Apparently people think she sounds like Miku?? :0 She has a completely different soundvoice, but she definitely has that high sugary-sweetness to it just like Miku. I don't know how to describe it, but for example it's something that Luka and Meiko don't have in their voices. I don't wanna say it's just high-pitched or something because that doesn't sound as good, but I know there's a slight similarity.

As a long time choir singer, I have a feeling it has to do with the vowels. Closed vowels tend to sound sweeter while open vowels have a deeper tone.

When you get Rana, you can go to her official site and input your serial code. This downloads an image of the number Rana you got (for example the first person who got Rana would be 00001 or something, I'm not actually sure if it's just a randomly made number though) you can put that number image in the mmd model's folder and it'll use that image as the texture to make the numbers on her cheek with your Rana model number~

I'm sure once they hear your cover, the whole "She's just like all of those other loli VOCALOIDs" argument will (hopefully) stop, and one can go back to listening to whatever VOCALOID they want to without people having to stereotype them so much. As this cover proves, she might look loli, but her voice is deeper than what you'd expect.

I enjoy the tuning, but not quite the mixing. Particularly in the chorus. While Rana could've used a bit more oomph in her voice, I think she should've had her volume lowered and compressed a bit more. She doesn't sound like she quite blends in. But listening again, that could also be due to the harmonies. If so, then lowering the strength of the harmonies would have made this better.
