DIY Lyric Monitor (prompter)

Quick rundown of my homemade lyric prompter. Built from an old wedge monitor, LCD screen, mini PC, and USB foot switch. Running off Windows and using PowerPoint. I am not a film maker so please excuse the quality.

What Microsoft office PowerPoint are you using

Great video, thanks for sharing. I am doing something similar and was wondering if you could help me out with a question I have. I can't figure out how to type in lyrics in PowerPoint on my laptop with the laptop monitor in landscape mode, and then have the lyrics fill out the external monitor I have hooked up in portrait mode to where the lyrics fill out the screen from top to bottom. Like in your video, your lyrics on your monitor fill out the screen nicely. When you are typing in lyrics on your desktop or laptop in powerpoint, how do you format those so they look right when you display them on your lyric monitor?

What usb foot pedal brand did you use? Also how did you install it since most of them come with a cd to install the drivers. I'm looking for the same pedal and I have a chromebox Hd. Thanks

Ebay, just a cheap brand. Any usb pedal will work and should come with drivers.

thanks for sharing this! we use a similar setup, but with the app 'Stage Traxx 3' as the 'brain' which allows you to time-code the lyrics so they scroll perfectly, and that way the font can be MUCH larger, and highlight the appropriate lyrics karaoke-style. we shared a video here as a sample (along with in-ear monitor audio with cues). 100% automated, needs no input all show. maybe I need to make a video to show the whole setup process. th-cam.com/video/ViN7oRh-Aaw/w-d-xo.html
