    I just want to say how much I appreciate that you actually record the guitar playing just straight in the video. So many, glarry, videos show this guitar through some kind of digital filter that it makes it sound like a five thousand dollar guitar.

      Honestly, this was one of my first videos and I didn't know what I was doing. I believe that at the time I recorded the amp with a cheap mic. Now I go direct to my computer via a Focusrite Scarlett USB audio interface.

    I have $150 into mine, its the swmi hollow tele style with neck humbucker. Gfs neck pickup, wide range humbucker. Slick Bakersfield bridge pickup, gfs bridge(same style bridge it comes with but better quality) bone nut, nrw 500k pots and vintage style wiring harness. After all that and setting it up, fret polishing, it sounds better than the semi hollow classic vide i had, better hardware definitly gave it tuning stability and a bwtter feel playing it. And now its got some really good tones, its my kick around the house or jam with buddies tele that i can throw in the car and not worry about a hard case, i keep my fender at home now and only play it at gigs.

    I bought one of these in 2023, and had a similar experience to yours. The back of the neck and the whole neck head were fuzzy rough. However, I bought it with the intention of upgrading the bridge, bridge pup, strings, nut, and eventually the tuners, courtesy of Darrell Braun's review- have you seen that? The one I got, however, is more yellow. And. I have suggested to Glarry that they stop including that thin dust cover, ridiculous excuse for a strap, and put more attention on the quality of the guitars. Did they really take my comments to heart? Hmmm... By your sound samples, The GTL sounds decent! On another note, I also got a Squire Sonic Esquire on Black Friday 2023, and it played well, right out of the box. The pickup is decent, and a MUCH better deal than the Glarry GTL. I agree w/you 100% that Glarry offers a platform for budding luthiers and/or those who want to learn how to maintain and mod guitars. Thanks for sharing! New sub...

      Thanks so much for sharing your experience! And thanks for subbing 🤘
      I have seen Darrel Braun's review, but can't tell if he purchases the guitars himself or if they're sponsored reviews (which are supposed to be disclosed). In any case, this Glarry review is old so I really should buy another to review but by the sounds of things their quality control still isn't there. Definitely agree with you regarding the dust cover.
      The Squier Sonic series has been really good from everything I've played and reviews I've seen. I need to pick up one of those Esquires!

    As long as the neck is straight,you can't build it for 90bucks,I know I have tried.I would not buy if your a beginner unless you can work on guitars.The Glarrys are good for modding,but they usually take a lot of work to make play and sound good.i don't know why they bother with the accessories, maybe beginners will think their getting a lot for a little?

    • @ArtOfShredYT
      @ArtOfShredYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, these are obviously targeted at beginners who don't know what they're in for. The interesting thing is if they raised the price only $30-$40 they could make a guitar that is a lot better and still be basically the cheapest guitar in the game.

    My most recent guitar was a combo (guitar, strap, cord, hard shell case) for just over $200.
    I figure the case itself is 80-100 dollars.
    with that said, the problem I have with this cheap guitar is A) the intonation is terrible. It is hard to tune (especially low end tunings) and B) the string tension is insanely tight, which is hell on my fingertips.

    • @ArtOfShredYT

    I have lots of Strats and a couple Mustangs, Fender and Squier, but I don't have a Tele and unfortunately, we can't get the new Squier Debut Telecaster in the US, so I found a cheap unbranded one (it's a Glarry, just without the logo on the headstock, which is fine, I'll make a neat waterslide decal for it) for $65 on eBay. I plan to mod the crap out of it like I do with all my guitars. I might even put a Squier neck on it or a cheap Chinese knockoff neck with the Tele shape headstock (seems fitting for a cheap Chinese knockoff body.) The Chinese necks are only like $40.

    Plastic nuts are good if they are consistently solid. There are some old Gibson hollowbodies from the '60s with either plastic bridges, if I remember correctly

    • @ArtOfShredYT
      @ArtOfShredYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A plastic bridge seems crazy.

    • @BaldPerspective
      @BaldPerspective 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ArtOfShredYT It does seem crazy, but it all boils down to how consistently solid the nut is. Another thing that sounds crazy is that I stay away from bone nuts because they come from different parts of the bone, so the consistency of the density can be, well, inconsistent.
      I got a tusq nut on an old & beat-up Global that is fantastic, which scores high marks for them with me. I also really like the aluminum nut on my Danelectro.

    Надо вообще запретить продавать гитары такого низкого качества. Это производство мусора. Зачем делать датчики которые большинство захочет сменить? Поставьте сразу хорошие! Куда потом девать плохие? Вон? На свалку? У нас и так кругом лежат тонны пластика и другого мусора. Тонны пластика и прочего мусора плавают в океане.
