As for civilian casualties, many teenagers are active in Hamas militias and they too are counted as "child" victims. It is a fact that Palestinians let Hamas use hospitals and schools as military bases. No Islamic country is willing to take in Palestinian refugees. UNRWA, the branch of the U.N. dedicated to helping only Palestinian refugees, which Europe and the U.S. have funded with billions of dollars, was caught helping Hamas, which was in the public eye but nobody had the courage to point the finger against the Palestinians. The progressive left Israelis that were supportive of a Palestinian state and really disliked Netanyahu, were the same Israelis that lived in the villages near the Gaza border. The same Israelis that were massacred on Oct 7th. There is no right or left wing government in Israel right now. On Oct 7th they formed a unity government with Netanyahu and his opposition. The people of Israel will not have an appetite for any talks about a Palestinian state after what they just went through. It was literally the worst thing to have happened to them since the Holocaust. I find it incredible how some people especially in the west just expect Israelis to allow Hamas to stay in power or legitimize a Palestinian state while the vast majority of Palestinians are in support of Oct 7th by every available poll, and are the same people that have been carrying out attacks on them for many years. No country in the world would be held to the same standard Israel is held to. I wonder why? Nobody cared when hundreds of thousands of Muslims get killed in Syria or Yemen, but as soon as “The Jews” are involved the whole world gets outraged. It’s really mind blowing.

The question I want an answer to in all this is, Why does Egypt not take in Palestinian refugees? The south of the Gaza Strip boarders with Egypt. It would be very easy for them to help, but they keep the boarder firmly locked. The comment that "Palestinians are trapped in Gaza." often omits the important fact that Egypt keeps them trapped.
Officially they’re concerned about Hamas using that opportunity to infiltrate into Egypt. Unofficially, they probably don’t want to deal with housing and caring for refugees, especially when it’s unclear that those refugees could ever go back to Palestine, either out of fear or due to Israel blocking their return.
Taking those refugees will destroy the Palestinian case. Palestinians have a right to that land and have a right have a country on the holy land just like Israel. Israel would never allow them back if Egypt took them in.
Hamas and the former Muslim Brotherhood that temporarily had control of Egypt following Mubarak's ousting were staunch allies. The current Egyptian government ran by the army that ousted the Muslim Brotherhood from power doesn't want a resurgence via their Hamas allies.
@nourrashid8739 "the Holy land" - Islam's claim to it being their holy land is dubious and limited. Jerusalem is mentioned about 500 times in the Jewish Torah and never in the Muslim Koran, but its THEIR holy land? A funny joke. It's largely a strategic ploy. The land is hugely important to Jews and Christians, so naturally Muslims would claim it. As for the Palestinian course. It makes sense, but doesn't change that Egypt is making that choice for the Palestinians, rather than opening their border and letting the Palestinains decide.
Wait... 25k dead in Gaza with 10k being children? When we say "children" do we mean "minors", cuz then those number being so close together would make more sense, since Gaza apparently skews so young in population. However, that does also bring up the uncomfortable topic of minors being combatants... Especially in a place that skews so young...
What else would "children" mean, other than minors? 😅 Ghaza has a very young population (i can't remember the median age, but it's pretty low compared to most other nations), so it would make sense that many children have been taken too, and not necessarily because they took up arms themselves
@@kristelbrok998 I only bring it up because "Israel massacring children" sounds a lot different from "Hamas herding child soldiers into Israel's crosshairs" even though it could be referring to the same thing.

Yhea let's hope the 30s sees things cool off for a good while. History tends to go in cycles as the generations that saw loads of conflict and war first hand die and stop having any control over events a new generation who have only heard the stories and don't understand the terror or horror that is the reality comes in to power and it all starts again. Occurs in other less serious situations as well.
@@F40-c4i not totally at peace, I honestly don't think we'll ever have that but there's been periods when there's been far, far less conflict than there is at the moment and in most cases countries have tried to avoid conflict rather than jumping in with both feet. At many points there's only been conflict in a couple of places and fairly minor events at that. Some places are always on the edge and have the occasional event that is responded to but goes no further but it feels like at the moment it's those sort of places that are now escalating things far quicker than they would have. It usually depends on how confident and what place the major players, Iran, China, Russia, America, etc who fund and arm most of the groups are in and what they're current wants and needs are.

A retired Iranian military helicopter pilot (unverified but I believe him), told me Most Iranians do not like their government and that the US supplied weapons, training and other things. The President of Iran raised the price of oil to the US so the US supported a coup that led to an extreme regime. I stand with the Iranians that stand with Israel. The Free World isn't perfect but it's better in the long run. I just don't think that Israel can take on the policing of Gaza...economically. They'd like to get the Palestinians out of there. Iran and Pakistan are firing on the same group.
Even after this, yeah it's impossible to be "on top" of all the wars/conflicts/tensions going on in the Middle East! Nonetheless, it's good to be more familiar with the groups, their nations/countries, their loyalties, ties, etc. after this video. Thanks!
Unfortunately it's not just the middle east. There are rumblings like we havn't seen in near 100 years (or just over depending on PoV) There seems to be radicalism, nationalism, isolationism, expansionism spreading in all corners of the globe. My own beliefs are that when too much is in the hands of too few, powerful messages that resonate with real frustrations and desire for change or fears, cause things to boil over until some balance is restored.. Hope things can settle down or ultimately be worth whatever cost is wroght. Gonna be a spicy few years and thats without climate or automation taking jobs... Such a mess.
I'm pretty sure that's because Mussolini coined "axis" for that alliance, it didn't have the 'evil' connotation because it was the first. Kind of like depending on your home country's power structure and history, "rebels" can be viewed romantically or fearfully.
This video gave me 0 hope for our future. I live in the warzone in the ME. Luckily my brother already ran away from here, but my parents won't budge. It's gonna be the annihilation of all of us. Gaza is doomed, Israel is self destructing, same as Syria and Iran. Hopefully I'll run away from here too. Living in constant fear this is our last day on Earth with nothing to do about it is the worst feeling. This video just made it more clear we're all going to die here by war soon.
I like how you casually dismissed any questions regarding the accuracy of Palestinians casualties provided by their Health Minister. Simply because none of the local NGO groups have disputed their numbers.. Like any local NGO does not know their ability to operate in Gaza or the safety of their personnel isn't dependent upon Hamas's goodwill. Plus no mention about Hamas practice of using local civilians as human shields.
I disagree the way Israel is handling Hamas, But then again I cant blame them. if this was another country that got attacked they would act in the same way. so who are we to tell other how to fight their wars.
Yeah. I could say the same thing about how Israel treated the Palestinians and how it responded. If you choose to believe that the war started on Oct 7th and then you're just as a sheep as everyone else that believes that. Maybe read the 30 years of UN resolutions condemning Israel for it's actions.
Oct 7th happened because Iran wanted to derail the peace deal between Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and UAE, and they’ve succeeded in doing so for the time being. If that deal went through Iran’s interests, power, and influence in the region would have been drastically diminished.
The October 7th attacks would have taken literal years of talks of funding of training of assembly etc. it wasn’t something Iran planned in a weekend. It happened because in the 1940s a rabble of Zionists invaded a land and displaced the people who had lived there for generations
I have a muslim family member who supports H group, ever since Oct 7th I noticed some of the issues with muslim community (not all), for some reason I felt distrust with families & other muslims I know on some levels when it comes to politics, never In my life I thought there would be religious conflicts between muslims & jews, Israel/Palestine really made history & change
Glad you're mostly neutral on this. Seems like pretty much all the mainstream options have just picked a side, called them genocidal, and less than subtly implied the increase in hate crimes is a good thing.
Calling this a “genocide” is absurd. IDF has to fight in a dense urban environment where the enemy deliberately uses civilians as human shields and uses civilian infrastructure for military purposes. Both of which are war crimes to begin with. The safety of civilians in Gaza is the responsibility of the government they elected which is Hamas. I noticed that Hamas didn’t build a single bomb shelter for civilians while they have hundreds of miles of tunnels for themselves. Hamas leadership went on TV and outright said that civilians in Gaza are “not our problem, they are the problem of UN.” So Hamas deliberately maximize civilian casualties because it’s their greatest defense, because dumb westerners start screeching about civilian casualties without ever condemning Hamas and blaming it on Israel. Israel has the capability to turn Gaza into a parking lot in one day. Instead they are wasting the lives of their own soldiers to save the lives of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. IDF cares FAR more about their safety than Hamas. It’s not even close.
@@dreadpiraterobertsii4420 Then your brain must’ve been tiny to begin with. Instead of providing evidence to the contrary of whatever you disagree with that I said, you instead insulted… yourself? Nice one
Should mention that the Netanyahu government also thrives on conflict which is why they specifically choose a violent faction like Hamas to govern Gaza.
The numbers of the Gazan health ministry don’t become more believable because they are corroborated by UN-organizations. The idea that a terror organization responsible for some of the worst crimes imaginable wouldn’t lie is idiotic. It is obviously in their interest to give the highest possible civilian death numbers, civilians by the way that they are deliberately placing in harm’s way.

Cause no one likes the Palestinians. Iran pretend to like them but they are just their pawns.
Ghaza has a very young population (i can't remember the median age, but it's pretty low compared to most other nations), so it would make sense that many children have been taken too, and not necessarily because they took up arms themselves
@@kristelbrok998 I only bring it up because "Israel massacring children" sounds a lot different from "Hamas herding child soldiers into Israel's crosshairs" even though it could be referring to the same thing.

History tends to go in cycles as the generations that saw loads of conflict and war first hand die and stop having any control over events a new generation who have only heard the stories and don't understand the terror or horror that is the reality comes in to power and it all starts again. Occurs in other less serious situations as well.
It’s been like this forever. When has the world been at peace? When has the middle east been peaceful?

Actually, as an Italian, I can safely say that "Axis" was used in Italy too, to describe the alliance with Nazi Germany.
I'm pretty sure that's because Mussolini coined "axis" for that alliance, it didn't have the 'evil' connotation because it was the first. Kind of like depending on your home country's power structure and history, "rebels" can be viewed romantically or fearfully.

They should be handled worse.
What's with the crappy 80's horror music in the background?

Glad you're mostly neutral on this. Seems like pretty much all the mainstream options have just picked a side, called them genocidal, and less than subtly implied the increase in hate crimes is a good thing.
Good video.
