Your coach is amazing. Describing everything so gentle but with the right amount of discipline. Love your channel and your gymnastics, greetings from germany!
✘ Laui -Good point. A respectful, supportive knowledgeable coach is a gem. The stories of emotional and physical abuse to “toughen up” the athletes make me so angry. You get SO much more out of your athletes with positive reinforcement coupled with consistent expectations than with punishments for things done wrong. Kind of reminds me of how horses do so much better in training with cookies than the whip. Not that gymnasts are horses or should be given cookies. Just that a pleasant rewarding experience will usually get more out of an athlete, just like a horse. IMHO, of course.
@@maureenkelly738 I don't get why punishment or discipline should be needed in gymnastics. In America it's an expensive club sport and completely voluntary. If what coaches are asking is reasonable, you do it to get better. In 11 years there was only 1 thing I didn't do because I felt it was dangerous, but other than that I did what I was told. If the athlete is not behaving, the coach should call their parents and ask them to take their child home. I don't get why abuse is needed.
Wow, MyKayla. Just wow. I can totally see you having that bar routine, as crazy as that sounds. You've proved over and over how hard working you are. Really excited for your gymnastics!!
Ik this is unrelated but why doesn’t mykayla try out for worlds 2021 after the Olympics? She’d easily be considered if she had two vaults. She could also easily get herself her second world medal on vault, maybe even the title.

OMG. What an amazing improvement in her bar work/ form !!!! So happy for her 💕!! Being that the Upcoming Olympics have cut a specialist spot, just about all the girls are probably gonna have to be able to do all 4 events or 3 minimum to be considered. And a good consistent bar routine has always been a key factor when choosing who makes the team and who doesn’t. Keep going girl!! Good luck 💕
I'm just a big ol' Mykayla and Chellsie stan. You're both so giving to your fans, once crowds are allowed to watch you perform, don't be surprised to hear you have the biggest section, just saying.
First, omg, your form is looking stellar! Second, imo, the best routines are the ones where difficult elements are done perfectly, and I feel like they can often score higher than more difficulty/lesser execution. So please remember that. I want you to make it to the Olympics, not die trying!
Fascinating video! Very cool to watch. It is worth saying, as a few others have mentioned, that while this would be an extremely high difficulty routine, a few gymnasts are already competing 6.5 d-score routines and they're still working upgrades as well, so it wouldn't literally be the hardest routine in the world. Also, the hardest possible routine isn't necessarily the smartest routine construction. I personally don't think having 9 D+ skills is worth it. One of the reasons Fan and Derwael and others score so well is that they pack in all the difficulty in as little time as possible, leaving fewer opportunities for deductions on things like cast handstands. I would probably take out the Church or the Weiler or something which would only cost you a tenth in difficulty and would probably be well worth it in avoiding deductions on that skill and leaving you enough energy to land the dismount cleanly. Of course, as your coach said, you can always make those changes later and have this crazy routine as a training goal. Anyway, I love how transparent you are with your training process! Really interesting and informative for fans to see. Be well!
Eleanor Mayerfeld it won’t benefit her scoring wise but does having 9 D+ skills make it the hardest routine? He didn’t say that it has a routine of the highest difficulty value. Whether it is a smart thing to do, is a different question

As a gymnastics fan who has never even touched a piece of equipment let alone apparatus, I think this video is very helpful in giving insight to fans of the sport the ins and outs of what it takes to be an Olympic athlete.
I hope she can learn it and nail it. She needs it. When it comes to Mykayla I always think of the saying always a bridesmaid, never the bride. She needs an amazing routine and it had to be solid and consistent. I really want to see her make the team. The competition is going to be fierce now that some juniors will qualify. There's a couple that people are really underestimating.
Extra credit if someone can add up the point value on the bar routine that Bob talked about! Mykayla says she has no idea haha and I am curious. Obviously the triple double doesn't have a score yet so I'm curious as to everyone's guestimations
Triples always start like that. Will take a lot of energy to throw that at the end of such a packed routine, they know this. It's just cool even watching her train it, whether it's competed or not. Plus she's on two eight inch mats right now which means she gets more cushion on her landing but less time and room in the air.
