    I kind of prefer the way it looks stock. But I will definitely do this if mine turns brown like some of those defect ones did that’s a awesome look

    Could you upload a visual tutorial on how you did this?

    7:00 It's my understanding that you should completely remove the cape (which is sawn to the body) before putting it in the water/RTI mixture? Is it "you *can* remove" or "you *should* remove"? Probably you don't want the cape to go in the dye? Could somebody clarify please.

    Very nice!,like how (dare i say it),simple it seems to do this,liked the look of the prototype Batman Mezco showed us,not too bothered about the one they gave us though either,the one idea this has given me is for the Tactical Batman suit which Mezco didn't darken at all,so wasn't screen accurate,this mod may well work for that figure!,thanks for the video & yes would like to see the Daredevil mod also!

      Forgot to ask,would this dye the figure body?,or just the fabric?,thanks

    • @fanboysforever
      @fanboysforever  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. The body under the figure is black I think so it wouldn’t matter either way with this one but let’s say you wanted to dye a figure body you would need to use synthetic Rit dye, not the standard version. Regular fabric rit dye like I used in this tutorial really doesn’t dye plastics hardly at all, synthetic will but it takes patience and very hot water to get good results.

      @@fanboysforever Awesome,wasn't sure as i've seen the figure bodies & they can be skin toned!,don't really want to dye the body,so that would be just fine for me,thanks 👍

    If the gloves are black like the bat symbol on his chest, why remove them?
    Not questioning your method. I'm just curious since im planning to do this tomorrow, but I'm worried about deforming the pegs where the shin guards and forearm guards attach.
    Thanks in advance and great custom!

    • @fanboysforever
      @fanboysforever  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      valian990 thank you, you can totally just keep them on, the main reason I removed them was just in case the dye somehow changed the finish of the gauntlets, but it was honestly just out of an abundance of caution. Good luck and let me know how it turns out!

    • @valian990
      @valian990 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fanboysforever i just got finished with the dying and drying process. I ended up not removing the shin guards and forearm guards. Turned out just fine! No noticeable change in finish

      @@fanboysforever also, for anyone else planning to do this, or a similar process, consider drying the figure in an airconditioned room! The air conditioner works by removing moisture from the room. Mine dried in about 2 hours

    If you can only buy one from mezco batman, which one would you prefer the supreme knight or this sovereign knight?

    • @fanboysforever
      @fanboysforever  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      First of all Batman I’ve been waiting for you to comment! As you can tell I’m a big fan! For me the Supreme Knight was an upgrade over sovereign but they’re so different so I love owning both. If it had to be one, I suppose it would be Supreme. Be careful out there, Batman!

    I'd love to try this, but it looks like a dark blue. Do you suggest more dye to make it black?

    • @fanboysforever
      @fanboysforever  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do suggest more dye yes, I wasn’t going for black at all but the darker highlight tone you see in the prototype. If you want everything black use plenty of the SYNTHETIC and it will take quite a while, but if you just want the highlights black then use plenty of regular black Rit dye. Thanks for watching!

    How much water, how much dye, and how much detergent did you use for your mix?

    • @fanboysforever
      @fanboysforever  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ll be honest I don’t really remember exact measurements, it was probably just a deep enough water to submerge the figure, a very small squirt of dish liquid and maybe not even half of one of the little dye bottles. The bottle will give you some more detailed directions but honestly it’s hard to mess up trust me.

      Well I wanted to let you know that I did this and it is amazing. You were 100% right on this. I did keep the plastic boots emblem and forearms on and just like the other post, nothing happened to them Thank you so much for this tutorial. Having now done this I agree everybody should make this very easy and simple change. I can’t do a modification to save my life and I was able to turn this guy into a professional looking piece. Thanks again!

      @@ciscohodges293 After doing it yourself, do you have any advice about the amount or proportion of water and dye, or about the temperature of the water or the time the figure needs to be submerged? Thanks.

    Could this method to be applied to PX Sovereign Knight body?

    • @fanboysforever
      @fanboysforever  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question and I think the answer is complicated. It wouldn’t be nearly as easy because of the pleather patches all over the figure. These pieces don’t dye as easily as fabric does. Notice how on this figure even though the fabric is dyed much darker all the little bits of rubber really didn’t change color. With px sovereign you’d end up with a black bodysuit and light gray appliqués on it, however there is one possibility. You could possibly use the black Rit dye synthetic that is used to dye plastics but there’s no guarantee of how well it will work, but I know for a fact the synthetic Rit dye will work much better than standard Rit dye on materials other than fabric, it’s just going to take boiling hot water and patience to get the dye to bond. Good luck and let me know if you try!

    WILL IT WORK WITH SUPREME KNIGHT?

    • @fanboysforever
      @fanboysforever  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Supreme Knight is very different because it’s covered in the rubber stuff whereas Sovereign is much more fabric. I do think it could work though, the results would just be a little different.
