Hey tx coin hunter i see this video is 10years old and i hope you are still alive and hopefully doing very well. Anyways my uncle had or has the Whites metal detector the one that you're showing and he just passed away back in February of 2022, and I always wanted to use his machine and he knew it too but of course he never would let me well when he passed away the caregiver that took care of him he had told him to make sure that I get that metal detector in the batteries and our headphones and all that stuff have no idea how to use it until I came across your video and that's how I use it the way you explained it and it does great and I just wanted to say thank you very much for putting this video out and by the way my uncle was a retired full Burke Colonel at the Air Force flew the p51 mustangs and was 100 years and 6 months old when he passed anyways thank you and you have a wonderful day and thank you for the video

Thank you so much ! Your video was exactly what I was looking for. I bought the Spectrum XLT a year ago at a yard sale for $100 - I haven 't been able to figure it out since. I watched parts of the video by Whites but yours was much easier and right to the point. I'm heading outside now to go hunting - Thanks again

Super video Brett, outstanding presentation. I watched White's XLT 'how to' a year or so ago and to be honest, they scared me off with all the detail. White's should hire you to demo & explain their detectors. Great idea loaning a spare unit out to a buddy...

@fabianlabian Thanks for the comment. For me the tone id is a great way to qualify the target. By learning to listen to the tones it allows you to quickly pass over the trash like pulltabs and only spend time on the higher tones. Even with the high discriminating settings of the coins program the machine can still pick up trash so the tone can help you identify the good stuff. Its great for cherry picking a site. You can scan quick and only dig the silver high tones. Good luck

@MichaelSwan66 Thanks for commenting Michael. We tend to carry a machine for back up but you are right, we just never know who we might run into that would like to give it a try. Having an extra machine with you is an excellent idea. HH - Brett

@TXCoindigger Does this detect gold coins? How deep of a coin will this detector find? We were told family buried gold on some family property and want to go see if it's true, but don't know what we need to find deeper buried gold. Thanks!

Is there any way to keep Tone ID and VCO turned on? Seems silly that my two favorite options on my XLT are defaulted to Off
