- President Nicolás Maduro has won Venezuela's presidential election, according to partial results announced by the electoral council.
The head of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso - who is a close ally of Mr Maduro - said that with 80% of ballots counted, President Maduro had 51% of the vote, compared to 44% for his main rival.
The Venezuelan opposition dismissed the CNE's announcement as fraudulent and promised to challenge the result.

These sanctions were imposed in 2018, at the time Venezuela was approaching a famine, prior 2018 Venezuela had no sanctions and was open for business. The only people sanctioned prior 2018 were specific top politicians, these sanctions were their assets in the USA. Oh, and I'm Venezuelan, go ask any Venezuelan. Your problem is that unfortunately for you, the vast majority of Venezuelans likes the USA, like Europe and ikes to have nice things, Maduro and you are a minority.
