Hi, I have a doubt regarding the video (seek position: 13:39). When click "Edit Taxonomies" of Genre from 'CPI UI Plugin' , then I set Hierarchial to True. I am not getting the output (in video seek position 14:02). How to resolve this issue?
Thanks for the help, this REALLY helped me out. I got it all to work except for one part. I want to add a pagination / next previous option to my News feed (NOT to my single.php page). So on the main page it has 3 posts and when you click 'next' it brings you to the next 3 posts. I added the loop of Wordpress () but nothing happens. No option appears. What have i done wrong?
Great video!!! Just one thing, what about the pagination on the page-reviews.php ? All the posts will load ? There's a way to put pagination there or some system of "load more", "lazy loading"...... Thanks!!!
I think you left something out which is very important. Post by ASC and DESC on your tutorial. How to Create Custom WordPress Page Templates with Custom Post Types & Custom Fields. Great works bro.
I love this complete tutorial in which you explain everything very clear. But when do you use a template and when do you use an archive ? Because your page with all game reviews looks just like an archive.
A BIG thumbs up 👍 for you man. You killed it. I love your tutorial style. I still have a question - is there a way we can build a more responsive page layout by adding bootstrap on the single-{post_type}.php pages? I would like to add more stylings to these pages to suit the need at hand. Please I would like to know how to use bootstrap classes on these pages. Thanks greatly for this tutorial. It helped me big time.
Hi! sorry if you already explained this in the video, but i'd like to know if using the single post method this way, is it possible to make templates based on pages that were designed with Elementor? Thanks
I have tried to follow your tutorial and I thought I was doing it right until I got to the point where I have to copy/paste the codes from my page.php. First of all, your tutorial codes are different than my theme's ( Bard Pro )- your theme's is way too short while mine is super long. And mine does not start with: I am at the point now where I have to show my post on the new custom PAGE. So I am confused where to start editing the codes. Please help! Thanks!
Hey WebMonkey Thanks...I have a question..WP by default keept an archive for blog post types and its categories and taxonomies...but Do I need to create an archive for my custom Post types separately?
Lubys A To show your archive posts you need to make a new archive page called archive-[post-type].php, where you fill the name of your post-type in the brackets and leave the brackets away. Then copy the code from archive.php and paste it in the new file and adapt it to your liking. And don’t forget to change the args to your post-type.
rahul agarwal The trick is to place in your template file the text “template name:” in comments in the first lines. That way Wordpress recognizes your template page as a template page. And you must place your template page file in the right directory with template files. Then you make a page choosing new page from the menu left. There you can select you template. To show the page you must add the page to the menu.
Hi there according to the tutorial I have added custom post type call magazine and added a new magazine post as well , but it doesn't appear in my home page , instead inbuilt welcome posts can be seen
kaushalya laknath That is because it is not a normal post.It is a post of the type of “call magazine” and they are only shown if Wordpress is told to do so. You can see your page by creating it in a menu item or make use of one of the two other methods. One method is to change the main query in the main page, but that takes more time to explain. Another method is to create a special homepage that overrides the main page. You copy the code from page.php and paste it in a new page called frontpage.php.That will be the first page the website will show, when you got to the homepage.
I just have one question, If I want to make a custom page for the category. in this case a custom template for the Adventure category, what should be the name of the file? archive-game.php? thank you
jose pablo nava Archive-game.php is the standard method. Don’t to adjust your args. You have to tell that the post-type is games and as a second argument you have to tell that the taxonomy genre has the value of adventure.
Not bad, but this only works with standard themes. Tried to use it with the hueman theme for several days now with no success. The custom post_type site and their single sites are always destroying the theme template...
Does anyone know how to add back the comment section to custom post type templates? this video helped a lot but now I want to add the comment section. any video or article will help

firefishable Did you make a child theme ? Otherwise Wordpress will almost always destroy your changes after updates and return to the theme pages.
