@@TobyCostaRica I was totally surprised there were no shadows and trust me i looked. I assume theyve designed the light reflectors to avoid shadows in that grill. Very clever if you ask me.
I've got an ARB commercial bullbar on my Dmax and airflow and kangaroo strikes are two of the main reasons I installed a light bar instead of big round spotties. I don't have a winch so the winch hole still let's some further air flow through.
Behind the grille that's a flat bar grille like that might actually cut down on the vertical spread like the old Per-Lux fog lights and let more useful light forward. I'm a little nonconventional and run a pair of Q4509 halogens in metal housings, sucks power but works great :)
I like them, concealment is a clean looking install and they appear to provide a good amount of useful light without over doing it. I imagine your auto dipping highbeam function works with them?
If you do a lot of night driving (especially country roads), you'll appreciate the difference between just high beams and even a cheap pair of spotties.
do you know any warmer colour lightbar? because to me anything above 5000k kelvin kinda strain my eyes and performs bad during rain. right now I only retrofitted my headlamp with 24watts 4500k led to suit my purpose. mind that I'm using projector headlamp not the reflector.
Lovely Ep and product not to bright with to much sign reflexion , Id never own a 4wd without a BB as I do hundreds of hours night driving a year our old Alloy bar got a few good belts from small roos over the years.
yeah, I'm not a fan of the cowl-mounted lights because I don't want light shining on the hood. Due to the inverse-square law that means the hood as the thing closest to me would also be the brightest thing, so cowl-lights at the top of each fender would be pretty awful in my view. With the improvements in modern lighting technology (think those stupidly bright flashlights/torches) I'm surprised that no one has designed lights that resemble those old-school cab-roof marker lights but contain floods or spots that shine forward brightly, or that no one has made a proper A-pillar-mounted visor with the lights integrated into its leading edge, such that it blocks sun during the day and provides light at night.
@@craigtomkinson2837because these lights are mounted down in the grill they can’t reflect back of any part of the car. I certainly never had them shining back into my eyes.
Seems nice, but it really depends on the design of your grille, the new Ranger is basically designed for this. Either way, if you're worried about animal strikes get a bull bar then get lights..
Was kind of expecting a comparison between behind the grill and in front of the grill..? Sure they shine out the front but are the sides of the road restricted?
thats cool, and I like how its two seperate ones, so if theres a problem with 1, u can still turn the other one on? And does this have 2 switches, or just 1 switch turns both on/off ?
Thanks for yet another good video. A bull bar in a country without large animals jumping up in front of the car has one purpose only. To enhance the size of the guys private body parts. AUS bullbars are illegal in the EU. - But a nudge bar isn’t. I see a behind the grill montage as an effort to go stealth with the extra lights and I respect that. I bought something different and didn’t mount them behind the grill. I’m no fan of light bars with tiny reflectors. I favor one light source with a large reflector. My 10 cm spotties, 4 on the front bumper and 6 on the roof rack gives me 1 lux at 1’000 meters which is enough to read a newspaper. 30 sec video: th-cam.com/video/wObiXsGxn7c/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9Jj4fj7e0-t77zmm
Impressive! Didn't expect them to perform that well being blocked by the grille. Thank you for the info
Yeah it honestly surprised me.
@@MadMatt4WDyou don’t see any shadows on the ground? I’m guessing it’s because there are so many LEDs they all fill in where one would be blocked?

That's impressive amount of light from behind the grill.
I thought.

Great information thanks !!
Glad it was helpful!

Yes it does
So why didn’t you do a comparison of driving lights off and driving lights on, or did you?
You can see it in the video.
Just out of curiosity - why not to use high beam headlights instead?
Because these are way better than high beams

The Ultra vision lights can come in 4000k and 4500k. Check out the website.

I also hate light reflecting back at me but these can’t do that in any way.

Many folks aren’t worried about animal strike so this is a great solution.

One switch and these are a high quality light so it’s unlikely they’ll fail.

Yes mate.
