AMAZING. Being aged 56, I have no recollection of steam trains being in regular service, but I love them. My dad won't mind me saying that he will be 90 next Birthday and he recalls his first ever train journey. ''Alone aged 18, I'd never left my hometown before. I had to take four steam trains from Nuneaton to Kircubright in Scotland to begin my National Service. It seemed to take for hours and hours and to this day, I still cannot define whether I was excited or frightened to death''. A little note from my dad. Thanks for this Bob x
Thanks. Even at 64, I don't remember going on steam trains. My local line as a kid, Bury to Manchester was DMU as long as I could remember. There's still something fascinating about steam locos, an almost living, breathing engine.
Really enjoyed the steam train ride. It’s a pleasure to see all the heritage railways opening up again after such a long time. I hope to get a ride on one next year. 😃👍🏻 Trev
Another great vlog, I really enjoyed all your vlogs, the dogs are so well behaved, you bring lots of joy for me & many others, I'm so pleased you have more subscribers, you make lovely vlogs of interesting places xx Linda
Thank you both for another good vlog, well trained girls!!!! lovely scenery and awesome, polished steam engine.. Great Speyside tour, looking forward to the next.... Keep safe...
Enjoyed the tour. Nice change in this vid. Some nice steam engines in north east . Looking forward to test drive. Take care and keep those hands washed.
Hi bob,Jenny, poppy and Tara, the girls looked very eager for the trip on the train! That sign is very true!!We have a lovely steam railway on the Isle of Wight which runs for about five miles,a must if you visit here Something romantic I think about steam trains, have a safe journey home.😀🐶🏍🚂🚂
Not sure if our 2 dogs would be so well behaved! But the steam train was fantastic, you captured the essence of that machine at full tilt and the scenery in Scotland is beautiful.🏴🏴 thank you both for this video 👍
That lovely old steam train brought back memories, of when I used to travel on them in my younger days. My late Dad was fascinated with steam trains. I think that was partly because my Grandfather worked for the railways in London. I enjoyed joining you on the train trip , Bob Jenny and the two girls. It gives me joy to watch the vlogs of your travels. Stay safe.
Steam trains always remind me of my Dad when he took me to Flitwick station to pick up his yearly supply of chicks in the late 50s/early 60s. It was the last old commercial steam train I ever saw and although I was very young I remember it well.
Great tour, some fantastic scenery and plenty to do. Where are "we" going next?? Enjoy your time off at moffat, do you ever have a holiday without filming??❤️
That train ride looked good. Must do that. Boat of Garten is where the first osprey nest was in 1956 after being extinct since nefore WW1. Although I have been through Aviemore on the train to Inverness I hadn't realised that the steam train shares the same station. Take care driving home and greetings to the NW! Oh yes Jenny that was a cool notice women are always right. 👍😀
@@johnmudd6453 ospreys were hunted to extinction before WW1. In 1956 a pair of Ospreys nested at Boat of Garten. It is believed that they were on their way back to Norway. There has been a presence of them since then with the RSPB centre. Thankfully this wonderful raptor is elsewhere too, they're an amazing sight to behold.
Another one I have not been on. Its great to see the Black Five in its LMS colours. What with one thing and another we have not had a chance to do any preserved railways this year but we shall have a good try next year.
This is by far my favourite part of the UK. I was there 2 weeks ago. Thank you for sharing. Did you not go up to the Cairngorm funicular although it’s not running at the moment
Hi Bob and Jenny Watch all your review and travel vlogs with interest . I retire in June next year ahead of which my wife (60) and myself (65) are looking to purchase a mobile home so that we can extensively travel round the U.K. . I’ve been primarily in order looking at Swift KonTiki, Adria Coral/matrix supreme and Bailey Alamo or upper range vans . Between 60 and 100k . Layout 4 to 5 berth so we could take our grandkids and one or two adults . So twin or single bed at back with maybe electric pop down option in front/ middle with lounge seats underneath also available to turn into bed. Although the primary user would be myself&wife we both have C1 licenses. Given your always looking Which Swift or Bailey would you recommend? Francis
I don't recommend Motorhomes to buy. It's far too complicated. What suits some people, won't suit others. What I will be doing is giving an honest review of the Adamo, which may help people make their own mind up.
Fantastic I love steam trains . Will definitely go there next time we are up that way . Thanks Bob and Jenny x

We had a holiday near Aviemore in July. We also went on the steam train with afternoon tea, which we enjoyed very much.

Jenny's great uncle worked in a signal box at Wheathampstead.

Thanks, we had a little break from filming at the end of this tour.
Love a stream trail, must be the engineer in me. Thanks for sharing
That’s possibly the cleanest loco I’ve ever seen👍
My goodness that train is shiny!!
Yes, it looked brand new!

Very good Bob - that's one heritage railway I haven't yet filmed. It's now on my list! Cracking Black Five (I think) loco.
Yes, recently restored.

No, we only had two days.

Thanks, but I try not to mention that...
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Probably for the best that you don't Bob !!!
