Good job Eurosport! Next year do a special on the opening event @ Kuipke in Ghent! A place with a great cycling history and also a great venue (the cycling track + the adjoining magnificent "floraliënhal") In a way it has the feel of an opening ceremony of the new cycling season. A really great atmosphere and jolly good fun th-cam.com/video/d8gbGXkc4cU/w-d-xo.html
Can i just say, that as far as Eurosport Highlights go, this is quality stuff! thank you for cutting this and giving us the best of Omloop! Kudos to the commentators and the people at the back end splicing these parts together. thank you!
thank you for the video! better reporting than during UAE where the focus was on the last few minutes of the race... here the tactics were much better visible!
When you're going around a corner at speed and the rider in front of you crashes it's all you can do not to ride right over him, carelessness or intention do not really play a role here. These guys are going at thirty to forty - go and try for yourself to corner at that speed and still avoid the crashing rider whose wheel you're having in front of you.
the title is confusing; these are only the highlights from the men's Omloop het Nieuwsblad. When I click on this video with this title I expect to see the the hightlights of the Omloop (= men and women.) Not just half the highlights of Omloop het Nieuwsblad. I can't see a second video of the Omloop on your youtube video page. Do you have a video on the highlights of the women's Omloop?
The mens race is called "Omloop het Nieuwsblad" and the womens race is called "Women's Omloop het Nieuwsblad" so the title is right. Who cares about women races anyway?
@@bobsalerno1381 Where did i state, that I want to forbid them anything, but it's a fact, that well over 80% of people dont care about the womens races.
Not really. He made the decision to go deep catching the breaks. It was a bad move strategically. This is what allowed Stybar to attack and it’s also what prevented him from catching him. Cycling is as much strategy as it is power.
@@AKindChap It was what GVA had to do to win, he knew he was the fastest of those 5 in the sprint. Stybar also is fast, but i'd give the edge to GVA 9/10 times. So if you know you are the fastest, you do all it takes to have none escape. But stybar timed his attack perfectly so that GVA didn't get time to recover from the last one of Wellens.
this comments shows how little you know about cycling :( GVA clearly is the fastest sprinter so the others don't wanna work to close the gap just for GVA to win the sprint, following that (logical) way of thinking, GVA has to react to every attack (which he did), but he didn't have the strength left for Stybar at the time. And Wellens had just attacked himself as well. There have been a lot of similar attacks/reactions in the past.
By how you talk, you obviously don't race. With 200km in the legs and in the final kilometers, you are at your limit. Finishing that race even you're at the back of the group will put you on your limit. How much more the guys in front. Imagine that!

Shame you won’t make Eurosport available to those who live in Australia 😡

1:30 not super nice from rider 194 to hit the guy on the floor with his bike...
194 is Jimmy Janssens.
Can’t really say something isn’t nice when it’s obviously not intentional. Careless, perhaps. But not “not super nice”.
@@AKindChap hmmm, not sure you can say it's "obviously not intentional". Did he really not see him... right in front of him?

fake finish: they let Stybar win easily, look at 07:03, everyone is soft pedaling, embasassing!
Lol
it really looks a little bit strange. Nobody is really trying to catch up to Stybar, when he attacks. But why should they let him win?
