Young INXS - just babies here! Before Michael’s long hair & swagger were fully developed. Super catchy song that had A LOT of radio airplay in. Australia! 🇦🇺😊
Back in 1982 this was pretty much all INXS could do for a video for their next single. A limited budget meant miming in a warehouse somewhere in Sydney on a day off. Lol. But the director of this video Scott Hicks would go on to do “Shine” a Oscar winning movie in 1996. This was the first INXS song to make a impression overseas. Back during the summer of 1982 this song was blasting from the loudspeakers of our local swimming pool. As we poor kids were sent out to learn to swim. Lol. That and watching ET at our only drive in in town.
I agree Travis! Regardless of the version you like of this song, mad respect to Bruce Springsteen for covering this song. As an Aussie though, Inxs all the way!! 💜
I first saw INXS way back in 1980 at the old Festival Hall in Brisbane. The show was two British bands. XTC and Magazine, and two Aussie bands, INXS and Icehouse (then known as Flowers) I sa them again on the Sunshine Coast when they supported Cold Chisel. I'm not sure which year but I remember the played songs from the album The Swing which would make it probably 1984.
I love that the same milieu (Northern Beaches of Sydney, late 70s) could produce two such different bands as INXS and Midnight Oil (fun fact - The Oils' manager Gary Morris came up with the name 'INXS' when he saw a can of IXL peaches at the supermarket)
Micheal Hutchence was so fine RIP, but I also think that Jon Farriss on drums was very cute. I do love this early song by INXS. Just imagine all of the music Michael and the Farris Brothers could have written between 1997 to 2024.
Way, way back when I was too scared to request songs requests, I requested INXS Don't Change, but it was a Bruce Springsteen cover. Turned out well and we did most of the '91 Wembley live INXS concert. Great to see you react to the original. Thank you Lord Buiscuit.
So many memories, the sound of Summer in Australia in the 80s. ‘Everclear’ actually did an excellent Cover of it in the 90s, they also did an excellent version of AC/DC’s ‘Sin City’ too, both well worth seeking out.
Hey guys. Loving everything. Check out a band called 'gods of rapture' with a song called ' feeling out my way'. Rock it and appreciate the technical side.
There are very few that can do an INXS song justice! I did see that other performance and it was horrible! The sad thing was that so many thought it was good.
Australia's most overated and overhyped band. The other bands of the era (early 80s) were way better. As an oldie who saw them live in the pub in early eighties I can tell you were a snorefest compared to other pub acts. Yet, the media inflated them as they were "safe" compared to other bands who were more talented musically but a harder sell on boring commercial radio. But that's OK.... lots of people drank the koolaid and believed the BS hype.
You obviously have no idea of real talent is, I’m probably a similar age, watched them dozens of times, they were the tightest band, and yes I was in a band myself, you don’t know how good they actually were, yeah the Angels were great(rip doc), so were the’oils, but INXS, were on a different level, only people with no musical experience would think otherwise.
Two much overlooked Aussie bands are Eurogliders and Re Flex. This Island was a very good album as was The politics of dancing. I haven't seen any reactions to Re- Flex and have only seen one reaction to Heaven by Eurogliders. This was a very good one here.
one of the most charismatic front men ever! R.I.P.!
INXS early stuff is some of their best - like this one!
Don't Change was my first INXS experience. This song is over 40 years old. Stands up well today.
Young INXS - just babies here!

Absolutely love this song. This one is a very early song of theirs.

Old school INXS love it.

Still my favourite INXS song

The first song that made me realise this band was going to be big ! Not just another teeny bopper band like the X men.
It’s 1hr and 12min to the new yr and it’s so good to hear this song and INXS. Happy new year ❤
My favorite INXS song
Another Aussie band Grinspoon actually do a great version of this. But iNXS were perfection. Michael Hutchence vocally is so underrated!
Most times than not, they would usually finish their concerts with this song.
Great song, I think its all the key changes that make it great! I am an Aussie!

Happy new year from Australia ❤🎉

Kirk's unrecognisable without his glasses.
happy new year to you all .... we used to do this in a covers band i sang in, such a great song (played it a little harder than the original)
I think this was INXS second hit in the US in 1982
It peaked at #80, can't believe it didn't chart higher.
@@ericschenher5526 That's a surprisingly modest position.
Love this song one of my fav's from them
👍
♥♥♥
2 members of INXS are brothers
The original and the best, only way to listen to this is loud.
lol.
Michael went to Davidson High School in Sydney’s northern beaches
