    I just bought this model and it arrived yesterday. It's excellent and a perfect upgrade from my previous Manfrotto. I'm using it mainly with a D200 & 18-55mm VRII and it is flawless.

    I just got this tripod from B&H. I LOVE it. I used it at the beach for the first time today, and it worked great. It's VERY sturdy, and the ball head works great. I replaced the Arca compatible quick-release with my larger hexagonal quick release, for which I have a few plates already (big, heavy, professional stuff). I have mounted my Toyo 4x5 view camera on this tripod, and it seemed fine. I plan to try an 8x10 field camera on this tripod. The 3/8" threads of the ball head mean I'll be able to upgrade to a bigger, stronger ball head, if the 8x10 needs that. I think the tripod should be strong enough to hold it all . . . as long as I don't extend the smallest tips of the legs. The two-segment center column is great! I can't imagine a better 3 lb. tripod. My other tripods are all so much bigger and heavier. I can put this one inside my backpack.

    I've ordered a Beike Q-570A. It appears to be like a "metal Q-666" but with lever locks.

    Proud owner of this tripod. It's such a great product for the price. The build quality is really good and the ball head smooth as butter yet firm (smooth and firm... hmmmm). Anyway, I would recommend this as someone's first tripod or if you have a shitty tripod and looking for a better one, this is a phenomenal choice.

      @Mark F how 's the weight of beike Q666 compare to manfrotto compact light? manfrotto have similar price

      @markfrias8936 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Arthur Sibarani Not sure because I've never used the Manfrotto tripod. But the Q666 weighs in at 1.45kg/3.2lbs.

    I own one of these and it's rated at 8 kg. which is about 17 lbs. I've tried mounting a 5 kg. jib on it with a 5D3 w/24-105, a motorized head and counterweights and with the legs fully extended. There was some bending in the legs but bringing in the smallest section fixed that. The center column was not extended and the ball head was not used for this setup. This tripod should be able to handle any DSLR-lens setup.

      It can hold my 5d4 with the EF 100-400Lis on the BK-44 gimbal fine. The center should not be raised with a gimbal www.amazon.co.uk/Gimbal-Tripod-Specialized-Telephoto-LF213/dp/B00CU2LCEE

    Thanks. Nice video. I'm trying not to experiment and fail while spending less than Bogen/Manfretto prices. This probably isn't the one for my new Rebel T6s with the Tamron 16-300 chunk of concrete on the front. Looking for under $200 as an enthusiast only.

    Love the review. So many affordable quality choices these days. Do you know if they make a model with flip locks for the legs, vs twist? I have come to despise the twist legs.

    You think this tripod would be decent for my Nikon D7100? I'm looking to get this exactly model since I'm on a budget.

  • @gamingtutor4575
    @gamingtutor4575 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    This can take a dslr with no problems whatsoever guys. It's really strong and you need would need to sit on the top of it if you wanted to damage it. Putting a mirrorless camera on this is obviously going to be ok, but you could spend a lot less on a tripod for a mirrorless camera without going overkill. Unless you expect to use something like this for wildlife with big massive lenses then having that expensive glass would mean you would fork out for a tri pod more suited for that sort of thing, but for DSLR this thing is perfect.

    • @gamingtutor4575
      @gamingtutor4575 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** I do :) I have one, got it a couple of months ago. It's not out of this world by any stretch of the imagination, but it holds my DSLR just fine. If you used anything like this with a lens which is typically for wildlife like the really big lenses then of course I wouldn't use a tripod like this, I would want to have a really strong tripod for being able to take the weight of some really expensive glass and have reassurance. This looks like mine, but mine is named differently, has the same model number though. I have seen my fair share of cheap tripods lol, for the money this tripod is really good. Have you had some problems with it or something which has made you doubt it's strength ?

    • @gamingtutor4575
      @gamingtutor4575 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** I do agree the biggest problems with tripods is deployment. It can be tedious putting it on and taking it off constantly.

  • @richardpcrowe
    @richardpcrowe 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Using an Arca Swiss L bracket, I can get away with using a lighter weight tripod and head since I don't have to hang the tripod cantilevered over to the side when shooting a vertical shot. That way the camera center of gravity is always right over the apex of the tripod...

  • @dbkfrogkaty1

    I'm thinking of getting one of these inexpensive tripods but I'm not sure if they can handle the weight. Heaviest camera I would put on one is my Pentax K-5II, with battery grip, and Pentax HD DA 55-300 mm lens. What do you think?

    • @dbkfrogkaty1
      @dbkfrogkaty1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Around 6 lbs.

      Induro tripods are nice. Kind of expensive though but better to spend the money then to take the chance on my camera falling. Have you looked at Benro tripods? Similar to Induro but cost a bit less last time I looked.

    Hi,
    Can the center column be removed completely (with just the ballhead sitting on top of the tripod)? Also how much does the whole set up weigh? I'd appreciate your feedback on this since the reviews are scant.

      ***** Hi, thanks so much for the response, and the great review. My gitzo tripod came with a removable center column, and I use the tripod without the column to reduce weight, so was wondering if the same is possible with this one. Thanks again.

    nice tripod. but it didn't last me twoweeks. the leg fastners too easily screw apart and the tripod falls apart. First I didn't exchange and they sent me a new one and I had to send back the new one because of other quality issues.

      +Craig Shipp how heavy would you go?

    • @scottelly2
      @scottelly2 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would. If you are only extending one part of the center column and you're only extending the legs about half way up, you will have plenty of strength. I mounted my 4x5 view camera on this tripod with the legs fully extended, and it seemed very sturdy, as if I'll be able to use an 8x10 field camera on it. This is a VERY sturdy tripod for a 3 lb. tripod. It doesn't come close to being as sturdy as a big Benbo or a professional video tripod, but those weight at least twice as much and won't fit into a backpack. I do plan to get a heavier-duty ball head, probably one with a rating of more than 30 lbs., because the ball head this tripod has is not rated that high and has only a 36mm ball. This one is very good for its size and weight, but I don't think I'd trust it for tilting an 8x10 to point down at a flower or something. A really good, heavy-duty ball head with a 40mm or larger ball, like a Sirui K-30x is about $100 to $150.

    Hi,
    I'm trying to find what are the differences between Q666, Q669, Q999, Q888, OBO B-36
    Also, I know that "C" stands for carbon, and without any letter at the end stands for aluminium, but what is "S"? For example Q999S...???
    And which of these you would recommend?
    Thanks!

    • @luyangche8278
      @luyangche8278 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I am not wrong, I looked up the specs of the Q999 and the Q999s, and the Q999 is aluminium magnesium alloy, and the Q999s is just aluminium. I suppose the S means that the tripod is smaller and also less heavy duty.
