I get it though. Dude is clearly dumb as toast, but he actually has a great fight IQ.
If you really pay attention to tank his entire career he never really focuses or comments on the physical part of the game. He’s always assessing and commenting on what he can do to get better from a strategy standpoint. Just people never really listened to him especially when Floyd was around. So he’s always been calculating in the ring and when he can do to improve on the mental side.
People that don't study the game (have to point this out because there are always a ton of people who train but never use their brains) always think just because power punchers give up early rounds means they get lucky. Some do, some don't. Gervonta is one that doesn't
They’re just toying with him. Even if he prides himself in whatever, believing whatever some random person is claiming (when concerning your intelligence) in time, will work against you. Everyone was designed to operate at a level that reflects intellect, so what’s really news about any of that.

Recognizing patterns and reacting to those patterns while under duress is actually very impressive. Most highly intelligent people couldn't learn to box at this level even if they had very good trainers. People act like your brain only controls thoughts, and not all of the movements and functions of your body.

Tank does this every fight. He fights passive in the early rounds while seeing what he can get away with, learning how his opponents fight, and wears them out at the same time. Then he starts applying what he gathered and chips away at that HP till it’s 0! KO!

Translates to other areas. Boxing at that level is a chess match. Professional chess players excel at anything a strategy can be applied to. Pretty much any other game, can translate into business.

The studies shown chess player only have good chess memory meaning that when you put pieces in places they aren't naturally supposed to be their memory isn't better than average person. It's same with boxing..boxing strategy only applies mostly to boxing. Put them in an mma ring and their fighting iq gets lower. They'll be good at the thing they practiced their whole life everything else depends from person to person and has nothing to do with boxing. Bottom line is boxing doesn't make you smarter in general, neither does being a good chess player make you a good strategist. It applies to other areas to an extent sure but not as much as you think.
