Hi Terry. If a property is fire damaged and not habitable, does it need planning permission before getting repaired?

Don't know that, to be honest.

Hi Terry. Thanks for doing the videos. Hopefully anyone getting work done will be better informed. Anyone getting work done can contact their local building control for information. It is a minefield of information and building control will assist you. The main thing is to ensure people are safe in and about buildings and we may be the grim reaper on occasions but we are there to protect the public and operators with our councils. The NBCO have a TH-cam channel also with loads of videos and cpd which is beneficial to all

Hi Terry, when buying a house, does a solicitor check out these compliances and legalities? I'm thinking that possibly, if an extension has been built on a property it would be subject to regulation? As a postscript, we are looking to buy in Ireland this summer. Thank you 🙂

Yes, that is part of a solicitor's job but the solicitor will be looking for certificates of compliance from the vendor's solicitor and will rely on those certificates.

Does the estate agent work for the seller, or the buyer?
