  • What is a “seeker-sensitive” church? And are they biblical? From Ligonier’s 2017 National Conference, R.C. Sproul and John MacArthur explain how seeker-sensitive churches distort what God commands the church to be and to do. Do you have another biblical or theological question? I never heard that church was for the believers until I heard reformed preaching. I always heard to bring your unsaved friends to church to be saved and I understood it to mean the church people would “save” them not the preaching of the Word. So grateful for those who preached the word on the radio. I found that God is sovereign and that changes everything.

God revealed to me the truth about my sufferings and how to overcome that to attain liberation. But being a normal human it is not easy to follow everything that God revealed. I fail sometimes but now I know what I have to do about my liberation. God is the best guide.

    PTL, 🙋‍♀The question is asked, how do we understand biblically “seeking” GOD? Allow the word of GOD to speak for itself. According to Jeremiah 29:13 KJV And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Matthew 6:33 KJV, But seek ye first the kingdom of GOD, and his righteousness; and these things shall be added unto you. The gospel is not meant to accommodate mankind in their sins, but to lead mankind out of darkness to the light of Christ by REPENTANCE, to be BORN AGAIN spiritually to live a new life in Christ… John 3:7KJV, The same as John the Baptist and Jesus taught, it still stands true today❗God changes not, neither does his word… Malachi 3:6 KJV, 🙏🙏

      No one who was an unbeliever took it upon themselves to join with the believers in Solomon's Colonnade nevertheless God kept adding to the church those who were saved. Compare and consider, the believers continued meeting together they didn't change anything to draw in the unsaved, the fear of God was upon them so no one dared join them unless they were believers also. The Lord kept adding to the believers as He pleased as the apostles went about preaching the Word and miracles were wrought by them. They didn't compromise the truth and God displayed His power through them to attest to the truthfulness of their message. It was confirmatory as a sign, this is the way, the way was and is the preaching of the Gospel, the Good News about Jesus Christ. Jesus did the miracles through them and they were careful to tell the people it was Him and done in His name not because of any greatness or holiness in them. Jesus Christ is the Way.

    17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
    18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
    19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

Jesus did Not say..Seek the bible. Jesus did Not say..Seek Paul. Jesus did Not say.. Seek the church. The whole Purpose and Plan of Salvation is in the first seven chapters of Matthew. Jesus is Emmanuel..meaning "God With us." He is in our own mind and heart. When We seek Him..He gives us our provision. He is the Only Truth for us. Jesus spoke to the people in the bible..but they are no more worthy than we are. Jesus speaks to me personally everyday Truth for me. Why would I live to what He told some bible person?? You people have Totally missed the Whole idea..of Jesus.

    • @bolinam9698
      @bolinam9698 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jesus was speaking to believers when He said that. And to that point, WE would be seeking Him, because we have been regenerated and justified at that point. And John 1 says, The word was God and is God, so seeking the “Bible” IS seeking God. Paul wrote more of the NT than any other person, so would we not look to his writings from a “seeking” standpoint? Not saying we worship or seek Paul himself, but we should seek the knowledge and teachings that God used in Paul’s life.
      Learn to read your bible in its totality. Let scripture interpreter scripture, and read it in its context. (I’m not trying to speak down to you, just trying to point to the flaw in thinking).

      2 Timothy 3:16-17. "All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work."
      I would like to address what you said that why would you "live" to what [Jesus] told some "Bible person". Those Bible persons who wrote the gospels were inspired by God's Spirit and it is because of them that we know who Jesus is today. Only the Bible contains the most powerful claim of Jesus Christ and God used actual people to write those things so we can know more about who Jesus is and believe Him. There is no contradiction in the Bible. Most people say it does but only with the Holy Spirit's guide can one truly understand its meaning.

    +ZoneFighter1.. I am not a catholic..they have too much fluff and error..but Christians are no better. I am a Follower of Jesus Christ..purely and truly. Jesus never said anything about appointing apostles..nor did He ever say Paul would be coming with a different and better Way than Himself. Paul was a Pharisee and he did what Pharisees do..appoint himself and make his own laws. It is fine with me if you want to follow Paul and his law but I follow Jesus..simply, purely and truly. Jesus is the Way. Not Paul. I do not care what the catholic church or any other church does.. You guys can fight your church battles forever!

      Yes, you're right that it is Jesus whom we should all be seeking, and even Paul's letters are addressed to that. He didn't write those letters to the churches to take their attention away from Jesus but to ultimately DIRECT THEIR FOCUS BACK TO HIM, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, because people tend to be easily distracted. We are all on the same stand point, sister, that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and it is only thru Him that we should be saved and only in Him should we abide everyday, but I think you're missing the point of the letters written by other apostles which are meant to support the Gospel and not take its essence away. We are not judging anyone, just helping each other out as fellow believers of the Lord Jesus.

      Also, just to clarify what you said about Paul, he was completely transformed spiritually when he had an encounter with Jesus and that led him to change and leave his ways as a Pharisee and follow Jesus instead. Remember that he was one of the most "zealous" person to persecute believers back then, so why would he suddenly fight for the same cause which he was fighting against in the first place if he wasn't completely changed during his encounter with thr Lord? He was for Jesus and not against Him.

    +Saved_by_Grace..Jesus Never said one thing about Paul establishing any church..Paul commissioned himself. Jesus definition of "church" is "revelation" to each and every person individually. That is how Peter "knew" Jesus was the Christ..through "revelation" to Peter. Jesus definition of church was Not a group of people with a hierarchy. You really need to go to Jesus for some Help understanding Him.. He never said Paul was going to come along and change His Gospel to a "better way." Your saved by grace fairy tale is not going to save you. That is Not Jesus Gospel.

    Whenever an evangelical comes to my door to tell me the good news I tell that person I don't want to join the republican party.
