I used to own this stereo during my tenure in Dubai. OMG...what an awesome stereo it was....I never heard any machine better than this....bass and clarity...and that mouth watering design and amazing looking angles...I miss my NSX-KT9 …..It was so painful to see Sony owning Aiwa in 2002 and then finally killing it in 2006...I miss original Aiwa a lot....
It's a great system very well built, however it lacks in quality sound, specifically medium frequencies and, medium high frequencies. I would be nice a medium speaker 4" plus a silk dome tweeter.

I still have a nsx-s888 just connected 2 x 12s and mids and tweeters and it absolutely blows my JBL 3.1 soundbar away and even my 7.1 samsung blu ray home theatre these Aiwa systems were just something else

Here in Brazil this device is very expensive. It can cost up to $ 300 if it is well maintained and fully functioning. I already saw the T96 / T99 also in Brazil working. Aiwa T series are very strong and powerful.
Agnaldo Souza I have this system, shit sucks, terrible highs, no mids, horrible boomy bass. It’s ok for a backyard stereo but anything els garbage, if you want some real good equipment check out Yamaha, JBL, QSC, infinity, or rsl.
@@miespost Briefly, I had the top-of-the line Dolby Digital version of this same design and it had major hum. I was so sad to send it back, it really was a beautiful system but I knew there was something either in the power supply or the amplifier.

@@randomweirdyoutubechannel8955 those actually look nice, similar to the Sony apm’s. I used to have one of the all in one aiwa’s with the bi amp and man the bass thumped on that thing but I could never switch to it from my m&k sound monitors, the tweeters it had were just so bad.

Mój wujek ma tą wieżę od swojej komunii, do dzisiaj robi za nagłośnienie do imprez, gier i filmów. Może wygląda plastikowo ale żywotnością i brzmieniem wyprzedza dzisiejsze plastiki o lata świetlne.
tak jak mówisz.. ale w tamtych czasach te plastiki naprawdę ładnie się prezentowały... był szał wtedy na tak zwaną "miękką mechanikę kaset"... wtedy w 1997 roku kupiłem nsx-v50 i mimo że nia miała BBE i DSP to byłem mega zadowolony bo jak na tamte czasy to był mega sprzęt do normalnego domu :)
i tak anegdota... 2 lata temu kupiłem Pioneera NC50 DAB s... i po 2 latach padł laser... a sprzęt kosztował tyle co w tamtych czasach 3 wierze aiwy... a w niektórych laser działa nadal po 20 latach

Laser po tylu latach odczytuje wszystkie płyty łącznie z CD-R. Najlepsze jest to że kosztowała mnie ona całe 500zł i była w stanie niemal idealnym. Ludzie za tyle kupują do domu głośniki BT czy mikrowieże bo się boją używanego sprzętu kupować, a ten używany sprzęt często przeżyje dzisiejsze błyszczące "cuda techniki".

In jedem HiFi-Laden der damaligen Zeit wurden durch Außendienstler von Sony Regalflächen aufgekauft um ihre Produkte zu verscherbeln und andere wurden verdrängt. Oftmals mit immensen Summen für die Läden. Ich mag Sony nicht wirklich. Auch TV‘s wurden hochgelobt, obwohl Samsung und auch andere damals Qualitativ viel bessere Produkte hatten. Danke für‘s Video. Die T9 steht heut noch bei meinem kleinen Bruder im Wohnzimmer und verrichtet noch immer ihren Dienst 😎👌🏻. Bis auf‘s Tapedeck. Aber das benötigt er nicht 😂.

Also NSX-RV80, RV70, D60, D20 etc were among the very last few productions from Aiwa in 2002.
yes, in terms of appearance it was better, it also had some good models but with sound quality in my opinion it is Sony that wins
