I agree with him, he's saying it's very hard to give advice to someone else. He's basically saying that each person decides for his own sake, preferences, conception of beauty, etc. However, in the modern world, especially on Instagram, you get to see that most collectors base their views on how a watch looks on another one's wrist or they go for the most expensive watch. At one point, he's saying that one should understand better what one likes. As long as you don't understand what you love, your passion will soon pass or will always remain superficial.
I started buying watches with zero understanding of what or how a watch works and what’s the fine line between a good watch and not so good watch, but like this gentlemen said about education,the more I learned about watches through all kinds of information that’s out there about watches,the more selective ,the more refined and the better choices I made with happier results.
