One of the mowers that I have for my landscape company is a 2020 rebel with the 36 hp Briggs & Stratton Vanguard motor there were some quirks that the dealer had to sort out when I bought it new which I won’t lie I wasn’t very pleased with however with Ballard high-rise high lift blades and that motor the thing is an absolute great unit it’s great for doing some of my larger properties like Baseball Feilds, as well as farms.
Great video and I'm glad I bought my 2023 in the fall. For the money with the tweels just get a Rogue. Also, the 54" the mower is wider than what you claim in the video. The 54" deck isn't wide enough to completely clear the fuel tanks so the chute doesn't fold in the way it does on the 61" and 72, making it near 60" when folded up. This is especially important for people with limited space in doorways. I learned the hard way and have to remove my chute every time I pull my Rebel in or out of the shed.
I have Spartan mowers, after I found out about the history I looked at Bad Boy and there are some similarities. The Spartans don’t need a stripe kit to leave nice stripes. I haven’t had any issues and I would recommend them. The Bad Boy seems to be legit too, nice video, very informative!
I mow about 9.6ac between my front yard and backyard and around the hanger and airstrip. I have a bad boy 72" outlawXP which they do not make anymore with a Briggs fuel injected 38hp. On 5/20/24 it was 5yo and right now it has 2680 hours on it. Not a single dime has been spent on it other than and oil changes and blades. Still rides and cuts like a dream, although I know the hours is about to catch up on it and will probably let me down this summer but I'm a drive it until it don't go anymore. The pos ex mark and Gravly i had before do not hold a candle to this machine

I bought 3 weeks ago Bad Boy 61 inch deck and immediately find out that the blades are not sharp it is very bad I was very upset that the dealer sold me in Concord NC with dull knives now I have to pay $13 extra for each knife this is not fair
Grasshopper doesnt sell many units due to cost but when you get 4,000 hours out of air cooled and over 10k hours out of liquid cooled ones its worth it. My last GH was retired due to fire damage. Shaft drive deck, kubota diesel G2 drives, hood so thick a tree fell on it and bearly dented. What a machine but a new one is $25k or so now.

Im a big bad boy fan, but I'm torn between the Rebel or the Toro 4000 series. They boy seems to be great quality mowers, but I'm not sure which one I would be the most satisfied with. Help please.
I think you’d be best off with the Rebel X with the tweed tires. Especially if you’re a bigger guy, the toros are limited in driver space. Both are quality machines. Bad boy has a little better access to the components and deck. While toro has more skews to choose from.
The good part of toro is there is literally a toro dealership in every city and most towns and toro can still provide parts for 30 year old mowers so you are good to go. Who knows who will own badboy in 30 years... prob husky, they like buying up brands to shut them down
How long is the average life of the twheels? It seems like the inner part of the wheel would get soft quickly and cause the mower to start sagging, causing the cut height to aways change making the back of the mower lower than the front. That's just my thinking I've never tried them. If someone can answer this please reply. I'm curious to know the life of the twheel.
Technically the suspension seat that comes on the rogue is what gives you the most comfort when driving. The front and rear suspension help with the comfort of the ride, but does a better job at improving the cut quality of the mower. Hope that makes sense.
Yes sir we even have an older video of the maverick HD linked in the description of this video the only real difference from the old model to the new 2024 MavHD is that the Honda engine is no longer available since Honda stopped producing that engine.
@@TractorBobs I’ll check it out!. I’m a professional landscaper and have spent a lot of time on mowers and don’t like cheap equipment. Love the videos. Thanks for the reply
I just don't get the rebel. So the elite offers front rubber bushings. Step up to the maverick and get rear bushings as well. Next is the maverick hd that gets you a full suspension seat as well as the bushings. But then if you step up to the rebel you have just the seat and a rigid frame. Why? Why would this upgrade lose the things that make ride quality possible. Now i know the rebel is the cheapest mower that steps up to the larger platform. And has all the stats of a full commercial mower. Is that the point? A cheap commercial option? Because as someone who is looking at buying a bad boy in the next month, i just can't bring myself to understand why i should consider it. The Maverick HD and rouge are the ones i am kind of trying to decide between but i have found two dealers trying to get rid of rebels at a price only a few hundred dollars above the maverick HD. Hope someone can explain this to me.
The maverick might be a better fit if you don’t need that 72” deck. And won’t be mowing steep hills. The rebel is built with a lower center of gravity so is it better for steeper hills than the maverick. Also the deck is slightly different than the maverick. If those two things don’t matter to you. Get the Maverick!
