  • In this Blender 3.0 tutorial you will learn how to create a 3d carpet.
    To make a rug or carpet use a plane or circle or any shape you want. Then select the mesh and click on that particle's tab ...

    The result looks good, but I admit I had a short laugh at first that this channel is called "CG Top Tips" and it starts off by creating a cylinder, deleting the bottom vertices and moving the top vertices down - just to have a circle in the end. Next time just Add > Mesh > Circle. 😉

      i think its for the vertices on the face.

      @@wavytown Even if that's the case, the vertices are not there automatically and are added afterwards, what you can do with a circle as well. And to get the circle it's a cumbersome way to do it:
      1. Adding a cylinder, 2. going into Edit Mode, 3. selecting the bottom parts, 4. deleting them, 5. selecting the top circle and 6. moving it down (even more steps to take to move it to a defined location, whereas in the video it seems to be just some arbitrary place)
      instead of
      1. adding a circle, 2. going into Edit Mode (vertices are already selected), 3. hitting F to fill it (or use the "Fill Type > N-Gon" from the "Add Circle" menu.
      It's just ridiculous work when your channel is called "CG Top Tips".

    Helpful tutorial, the results in cycles looks good, for eevee, it doesnt look too great (a lot of noise on the carpet, totally a no). When using this method, I think u shouldn't render it while tweaking the settings for hair interpolation (maybe try doing the certain view portion, like in the video). Half the values for the hair if its 'too much' to render.

    I made a carpet using the particle system and I've added a table on top of it. Now the hair particles of the carpet clip through the table. Any idea on how I can fix that?

    Everything works fine until i want to import the Carpet into Unity. In Unity the Hair is not showing up.

    • @JosephWMicheli
      @JosephWMicheli ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can only export certain meshes and attributes to Unity from Blender - Blender's hair system is unique to Blender alone and cannot be exported.
      I don't really use Unity, but I think what you'll want to do is look up Unity's hair system and create it in the engine's editor. However, for something like carpet, using hair is going to be very computationally intensive-it may not be what you want for real-time rendering.
