Thanks Tuba Skinny for keeping this music alive. People from way back then were blessed with magnificent music, times were very hard, the world was very different, but they had this beautiful music to listen to!
Found Tuba a while ago whilst looking for something else, decided to listen to their music and haven't looked back since, brilliant very profesional band i hope will be around for many years to come, i just wish they were English so i could watch them live, i am very envious of you Americans having this band to watch whenever you want.
It is interesting how each member of this band plays a supportive role, and it all blends together for their distinctive sound. It is pleasant, and I find relaxing, and therefore listen a few moments every day. Keep up the good work.
Not exactly an accident but close. Tuba Skinny is made up of musicians who came to New Orleans after Katrina. Pops Coffee's book, _Tuba Skinny And Shaye Cohn_, provides as much info about the group as any source I know.
TS played at Tin Pan in Richmond, Va on August 19, 2021. The Tin Pan on the wall suggests that this was recorded in Richmond, and not in Vienna, Va. on August 18, 2021.
