Loose Fit Stays Up Merino Wool Hiking Socks Vs. Darn Tough Socks: The Wet Test! 💦

After hiking out of Fern Canyon on our west coast road trip, I discovered how truly amazing my Loose Fit Stays Up merino wool hiking socks really are!
After a pretty chilly stream walk, it was SO EASY to quickly slip out of my “Loose Fit Stays Up” hiking socks, wring them out and then slide them right back on again!
Try that with your Darn Tough socks and imagine struggling with this task every single time it rains-worse yet, first thing in the morning on cold days… 🤬 No way! Not for me!
I’m definitely wearing my LOOSE FIT STAYS UP merino wool hiking socks on my 2025 Appalachian Trail thru hike. I’ve interchanged the same two pairs for over a year now-over 3000 miles and they’re still cozy, thick and fluffy (unlike my Darn Tough socks, which wore down to the bare elastic within 50 miles of hiking. They may not get a hole in them for a long time, but who the heck wants to backpack in worn down, uncushioned socks? Not me! I want to support my hard-working feet with luxurious comfort-especially on a long distance journey of a lifetime! 💕)

I do like my Darn Toughs, but I really have to get a pair of the loose fit and try them myself, given how much you like em.
