    Ayo, really excited for this series. I just got to say one thing, don’t get too ahead of yourselves. You should play within the capabilities of the year that you are in. Because of course you could just load the line with horses to meet the maximum load, or you could play, and allow for the option for growth.
    Also another thing that would be nice to see, is the small and narrow tight streets of the old town and how it compares in a number of years time when it becomes a metropolis. But other than that keep up the good work can’t wait for the next episode. ☺️

    Probably rename Santa Rosa to Chirwick to make it less Spanish-y.

      Tbh I agree, I think Spanish names don't fit the map.

    Two words - Line Rates :) Since the Tools factory only needed 100 units to start @ level 1, you only needed to produce 100 planks... which meant a max 200 logs from the forest for starters. Sure, these will increase as the sawmill and tools factory level up with extra consumption of Tools in the towns, but the vehicles placed on the lines at the start were far too many for what was needed. Use the CONSUMERS tab in the Tools & Sawmill to work out what your current line rate on the transfer needs to be :)

    Im really looking forward to more steam trains and diesel trains, they look just so much cooler then electric and are so under used, i hope you can stay in that era a long time

      The goal is to have a pretty good network set up before we move on to diesel/electric trains

    Really enjoying your series! Have you ever thought about adding an exit to the truck stops? When I play I really like adding another road connection to my truck stops, so the vehicles pull in, and keep going straight out the exit. They dont hv to turn around and I find it smoother.

      I do that in some instances. However, I usually only do it when its a larger station with a lot of trucks. I have been using a different truck station from the workshop which has a separated entrance and exit but it just comes down to what I think looks better in those locations

    I'm not understanding why you wouldn't consider a shunting line on the logs line instead of all the trucks? I ask because I don't know why you wouldn't.

      I never thought of doing that but I would be worried about running the train empty for the trip back as well as the elevation change from the forest to the sawmill causing the train to be too slow. Maybe once more powerful engines are available that might be an option.

      ​@@ultimatearchitectIn real life, fully loaded freight trains can barely handle a gradient of 1%, but the game is *MUCH* more forgiving on slopes than irl
      The hills also work in your favor in this case because the approach from [ planks --> logs ] has the steepest part at the end. The train is empty, it has inertia, and it's already intending to come to a stop soon
      Some stations like those in the London Tube system actually use this technique to brake more efficiently
      I would just recommend keeping the gradient at 3% or less because that's about the upper limit for most trains, even with an empty load

    I know I'm like 3 weeks late, but I actually have a formula to determine the rate you are shipping! :D
    To determine the rate, you must multiply the number of train cars times the capacity of those cars
    Then, you must divide that number, or "n • c " by the frequency of your train
    Finally, you must multiply that number by the constant 12, and you have your rate
    Solve for r can be expressed as:
    (nc/f) 12 = r
    I would strongly recommend you set a target rate for an item and then determine how many cars will be needed instead with the following formula though:
    To determine the number of cars required you must select a desired rate
    Divide the rate by 12
    Multiply the quotient by the frequency of the train
    Then divide the product by the capacity of your desired cars
    Rate --> cars can be expressed as:
    ( (r/12) f ) / c = n
    If you wanted to ship planks at a rate of 400, you would need about 72 flatbed cars, assuming the speed stays the same.
    This is *insanely* useful for aggregate trains and I abuse the heck out of it lol
