Those are not fake, most of the top brands clothes are manufactured in Sri Lanka. (NIKE, Victoria secret, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein etc). I have found top brand clothes from USA shopping malls like Macy’s which say “ Made in Sri Lanka”. May be factory second clothes which sell in TjMax or Ross. But they are not “Fake”. Now a day's prises bit high .but you can do comfort shopping for that prices,As even most of srilans ,other tourists usually go kandy they used to sell high prices in my experience
Sometimes it’s good to bluff the market seller. Give the price your willing to pay, once he gives a higher price, say it’s too expensive and that you found it cheaper down the street and walk away. If he calls you back, say that your going to give him one more chance to give you a good price and if he’s close to the sellers price down the street you will buy it otherwise your going to the other shop. Again, it’s a bluff because there no other shop, lol. Works for me every time. They will usually drop at that point. It worked when I was in Dubai

Hey Harry great videos! My 2 cents as a fellow Lankan. All these items were like $4,5,6 and you were haggling for what would have been 30 cents /20 pence in terms of discounts! Like seriously?! These prices weren’t bad at all and for you they’re just a few bucks! I get that you’re making content, but You are in a second world nation at the end of the day, and paying barely anything for what would be lots of money at regular stores. Like a tourist haggling for 50 Rs is just cringe. Pay full price man - these people can use it. My second thing is, calling this market FAKE is clickbait-y and may not be true. The country makes apparel for major global brands and these could simply be “factory rejects” for minor, barely noticeable defects in an otherwise perfectly fine product. Unless you are without a shadow of a doubt 10000% sure these are fake, please qualify your statement. Otherwise don’t say it :D just some Sri Lankan food for thought, overall your videos are great and you are doing a great service for showcasing a little island that has so much to offer, but is often overshadowed by its bigger neighbours. 👍 Keep up the great work!
Factory rejects of major brands like Nike and Adidas are burned inside the factory they are not allowed to go outside. Including the raw material. So obviously these are counterfeit.
